I always have two to three weeks of food available. Plenty of batteries, flash lights, and candles. Propane stove. Large water cooler.
Guns and ammo. Antibiotics.

If need be I can shoot the wife´s 80 lb dog and feast for a week. Does that count?

The way I see it, physical items that can´t be carried are worse than useless.

Skills and a place which, to quote Titor, is "three days walk from hungry people" are my main concerns.

Unless you have stashed your supplies away from other humans, count on them not being there.
If you have weapons that you are not prepared to use without hesitation, leave them behind.
Be aware that while you may have a tank of fuel, it won´t help if the roads are blocked.

I have this list of essentials that will make life easier...

It encludes; Tang, powereded milk, bottles of lime and lemon juice. Flour to make gravy.

Lots of raisens, dates, nuts of all kinds...

Olive oil and honey.

Plastic jugs of water and plastic jugs for personal "toliets".

Lots of white Turkish towels and Egyptian linens. And white 100 % cotton bath robes.

Seeds. Canned apples, pineapples..
A generater, a gun, A guitar. A box of Bic Lighters (from watching Survivor).

Some fig bars.. a fishing pole. A bow and arrow. A sword. Probably won´t take the surf board.

We wer fortunate enough to have a 5 day power outage in July! Bought a generator, coleman stove, camp coffee pot, etc. We had a great time while everybody else was struggling. It´s very peaceful without all the buzzing power lines :)
