The "meteor" pic in this thread is a photo taken south of Sandpoint looking north toward Sandpoint. Except that was no meteor. That was a beam that shot out of the lake itself. A lot of people here in the Sandpoint area witnessed this. It can no longer be refuted that something is going on in Lake Pend Oreille.

No flowers, i agree about the meteor because i saw the photo and the facebook page, but there is no glowing lake with a pic or video to prove it

The boom came from the north of me too.

Except a laser or beam of light does not create a sonic boom and the people in the area who saw the METEOR said it created a sonic boom as it entered the atmosphere.

Also the lady who took the great photo described it as slow moving and that means it is a bolide

It was probably a piece of object 1 because that is 2.4 lunar distances away

Pretty sure that the locals know what they saw and felt. Plus, this has been a common occurrence there lately. Sandpoint is full of mystery and odd goings on.

This sure looks like a beam of light. I wonder if people saw the reflection in the lake first, then looked up.

I remember the stories about the light beams. Fascinating stuff. They have been posted on glp for a few years now.

The evidence i see posted is from facebook where the lady who took the photo explained what she saw and so did everyone else and not one person says anything a bout a beam of light or a lake !

You people must not know how to take photos of a meteor.

You have a good camera on a tripod first.

Then you set the shutter to stay open for a number of seconds or minutes.

She had the shutter open for 25 seconds. So as the meteor travels across the sky it creates a streak obviously.

Obviously a meteor looks like a streak of light you can say light beam but that is a bad description because its a streak across the sky of a rock burning up.

When she shared the same pic on the north idaho life page she said exactly how she took the pic of the meteor for the non photography people

1 AU = ~150 million kilometers )

Estimated Diameter** 22meters - 48 meters

So the asteroid on flyby of earth was about 915,000 kilometers from earth and so the meteor was eithe a piece of that asteroid or a small asteroid that was near the same orbit and flight path as the larger piece
