I have a herniated disc and am having surgery this coming Friday so I can't get out, but he's texted me - he's seen 6 deer so far but none in range. I wish I could be out right now but I will have to wait. Good luck with the pheasant. I haven't been pheasant hunting in years. |

Where I live the gun (shotgun and muzzle loader only) is by controlled draw. There are 2 weeks available - the first week of November and the first week of December only. You have to apply to hunt either one - and only one of those weeks. I am in the first week of November draw. I hope I will be OK enough by then to hunt. |

Gun season here in Wisconsin goes from the Saturday before our Thanksgiving holiday until the Sunday following it, so nine days in all. About 500,000 hunters will harvest 250,000-300,000 deer. He's found blood. My wife and son and dog are going out to help him find it. This is only his second year hunting and first year hunting opening day. I am very excited for him. Hopefully they can locate it before too long. |
