there are no studies which demonstrate helmets save lives;
helmet efficacy is very hard to test in the real world, we just cant do around throwing people under buses, they DO work when used in their intended parameters: they are for slow-speed bumps and knocks.

the article did not question why she had been cycling while drunk, nor why she was using a phone while cycling, neither of which is illegal in uk, nor did the article suggest these two should be made illegal.
