I think if India becme involved in a conventional war with Pakistan it would be swift. India would not have much of a problem once they achieved air superiority(a few weeks).

At that point I think Pakistan would us a nuke.

Another thing is India would have to fight both borders as baby Pakistan to the east would surely invade.
