As an ardent supporter who believes that for the good of the country, she must win, I am concerned about the negative effects of her speaking style including facial expressions. This seems to occur especially when speaking or debating before large audiences. Her warm, relaxed and charismatic style, so in evidence at small gatherings , understandably, often disappears in more public and more pressured settings. I believe that this can be corrected with some smart and sensitive coaching. As you know, unfortunately, style often “trumps” substance with a large segment of the voting public. I have spoken with my good friend, Marsha Mason, regarding her willingness to work with Hillary Clinton on her delivery. I can think of no other more perfect person for this important task. As a distinguished artist and icon in her own right, Marsha is a brilliant director, who is particularly skilled in working with actors. She a sensitive collaborator, and someone who is highly respected in the arts community for her perceptive advice. At the risk of being presumptuous, I do feel strongly that the campaign needs to come to terms with this issue. If Mrs. Clinton or someone at the campaign would like to speak with Marsha, I can arrange that. All the best, Susan Susan Albert Loewenberg Producing Director L.A. Theatre Works 681 Venice Bl. Assign some of the campaign staffers to watch on YouTube or TBS or HBO or Comedy Central online all of the Daily Show, John Oliver and Full Frontal ( Samantha Bee) episodes of this campaign to date. Their staffs have done incredible research and already have dredged up going back decades the stunning proclamations Trump has made over the years including degrading chauvinism (last week I watched a clip of him saying how annoyed he is coming home from work and his then wife Marla Maples not having his dinner made). I did hear Hillary refer to his despicable comments about profiting off of the housing crisis last week - which was effective I thought. The economically challenged need to wake up that Trumps only interest is himself and he will tromp on anyone for his own benefit. Late night comedy is all over cutting through his crap so let's take advantage of that!!!! Sent from my iPhone |
