its threads like these that make me angry. i may be "low - income" but im no low life. i dont have a criminal record, nor would i ever steal, do drugs or kill anyone. once upon a time i was solidly middle class, had a 12$ an hour job, two cars and an apartment. the great recession of 2007 erased all of that and it never recovered. so i dont wanna hear that "ALL low income people are low-lifes" thats not accurate.

and to demonize a people for things that were beyond their control - is an attack on people that were once rather successful in life but punished for that success by a race baiting ANGRY little man that occupies the white house.

your right some of us just want to live but find ourselves DIS SATISFIED with the current matrix or status qou. so what i am trying to do apart from survive day to day, is changing my little corner of the matrix so i can be at least satisfied with day to day stuff. i dont need anyone putting me down for it either.

Exactly, do you think some of us WANT TO be on ebt and stuff like that? A one bedroom crappy apartment costs $800+ to rent. And that's in the fcking ghetto with real people who are lowlifes. Who do drugs, do nothing but sit on their ass out on the stoop all day.


And even then, us decent low income people have to pay taxes to support these people who do drugs, keep popping out kids, do nothing but spend their check on alcohol and partying.
Or buy their kids Jordans but we can't even afford to buy anything near that price. They get ebt and buy donuts, steaks, pastries, sugary cereal, chips instead of vegetables and fruit.

There's no disposable income. Living paycheck to paycheck sucks. And before you say go back to school, where are we going to find the time to do that?

That is because that is the only option for them. Getting out of the stigma is almost impossible. In this economy many who were living well are no struggling or barely surviving, becoming those low lives you classify them as. Be careful to judge buddy or you may just join the ranks. I'm gonna jump in here from NZ. 5 years ago I had a job where I wore a nice suit, pulled down decent bucks, had a company car blah blah, then everything turned to shit.

I've now been living in my van for the last 2 years semi-unemployed and I am Fucked. At least summer is coming down here.
