I thought Earth was the extinction zone.

Which would be the entire Northern Hemisphere.

If Fukushima raised the average CPM by just 5 counts per minute, 400 reactors alone going sideways would be 2,000 CPM - long term lethal.

Add on to that the radiation released by WWIII targets themselves. You would have to be underground a very long time indeed to survive that.

Have you played the Fallout series of computer games?

Prior to the main plume by Fukushima, CPM counts in my area (Rocky Mountains) was around 12. Now it is in the 18 - 19 CPM range consistently.

I've measured this since 2011 and once the CPM went up, it never went down.

Is there a map of this so-called extinction zone?

yep, no chance of survival where I am...surrounded by bases, ports, tons of fairly important infrastructure..close to major city...at least it will be over in a flash

Too many variables to predict: Yield of weapon, altitude of detonation, hardened target, weather conditions, etc.

For a mere mortal living in an average house 5 miles from a target, a standard 250 kt warhead could detonate 5 miles in the opposite direction (10 miles off target) and still destroy the house.

There are various possibilities for what is really happening between Russia & US.
