Thor's Hammer about to be added to U.S. arsenal
First, a description of Project Thor. The idea for the weapon is nothing new, but launch costs would have been too high and the project was mothballed. The short version is a computerized crowbar that would be simply dropped on opponents from orbit, obliterating whatever it strikes quickly and cleanly, like a man-made meteor.

Curiously, the Air Force is spending quite a lot of money for the development of a new device that would be able to fire individual kinetic energy weapons into space.

With this technology, the U.S. will be able to effectively blow up anything anywhere on the surface of the planet. Chuck some of these not-so-harmless "microsatellites" into orbits that criss-cross the globe, and when you want something killed dead, send the signal...same concept as Thor, only instead of putting the launch platform in space they will put it in southern California.

The geopolitical implications would be quite important. Imagine being able to take out a hardened bunker in N.K. before they have time to arm the missiles with the touch of a button. Imagine a few hundred of these things descending on a nation at once, obliterating a whole arsenal at once. I also must wonder what would happen if you used a canister full of ball bearings on a city.

I feel pity for whichever organization or nation stands in the way of the U.S. war machine once this system goes online.

Solid carbide ceramic coated bowling ball sized spheres chucked down from orbit and you have a very serious weapon that would be virtualy impossible to defend against on the surface. Read a book called footfall by Niven and pournell and you'll be convinced.

The universe is watching us as we are scheming. The black hole will not leave its post until the job of raising consciousness is done.

Thor's hammer is the cycles of time governed by Saturn, who we call satan... It's a learning process. We can repeat the circle/cycle of time as much as we want, for as long as we want to bat our heads against a brick wall.

Thanatos,

We see the form but we don't see the life that lies in back of the form; the same with the human body. We see the body and how it moves, but we don't see the life which animates it. The same with a planet, and indeed SPACE itself. We can see its life-forms and can measure the emanated energy, but we don't see the consciousness - the intelligence, the awareness which makes it living, ie. a self-sustaining system with feedback....... KARMA..... The looney humans think the earth can survive with positive feedback.

Biology is anatomy and physiology.

Psychology is the study of the human mind.

Neurology is the study of nerve cells.

I am very glad you see those things inside humans, Thanatos.

Is that the MHD stabilizer on the ISS, or is there something else as well?

What's a MDH stabilizer in this context? As far as I know, its a fusion reactor component, and stands for magnetohydrodynamic stabilizer. Why do they have one of those on the ISS and what is it supposed to be doing there?

Re: Thor's Hammer about to be added to U.S. arsenal
That's the NSTX developed at Princeton University, I would gather.

SHR spilled the beans on that one. It was delivered to the ISS in September, and NASA GUY said not long ago

Re: *** I'm a NASA Scientist...Ask and I will tell. ***

Shuttle Discovery was our first vehicle specifically designed for military use exclusively.
Quoting: NASA GUY, 1/5/2007 5:11 PM

You tell me. Antartic Astronomer said they were going to try to time-shift the anomaly with it on January 3rd; he called it a "particle weapon canon".

NASA GUY says more at his post, too

We also track military platforms in space. Also military devices that many do not know were launched just after Reagan left the White House.
 Quoting: NASA GUY

Ronald Reagan left the White House in 1989 and was succeeded by George H.W. Bush..................... Ooo la la.......
