BREAKING NOW: Mass Casualty Bus Crash on I-10(Palm Springs, CA) : Multiple Fatalities & Injuries. (13 dead, 31 injured)

I have several family members in downtown Los Angeles and Koreatown who take trips to casinos in the Inland Empire on those buses, sometimes. They're legal immigrants from Korea, and these trips are a really inexpensive way for them to get out of the city and to actually have a bit of fun, every now and then.

I'm always worried that they'll be involved in something like this, though, because a lot of those tour bus operators really are horrendous drivers, as other people have pointed out. In fact, I've been cut off and nearly pushed off the road by a couple of the buses, myself, when driving on the I-10 in the early morning hours.

This is just so tragic.

I remember driving my mom to the local bus stop for her one hour trip to the Atlantic City casinos. I drove her myself to Atlantic City many times, but there were about three times when I had to think of my children and their activities. They were the times she took the bus.

It is such a shame all that loss of life and injuries.

Back on Mother's Day May 10, 1999, we had a tour bus crash that killed 23 senior citizens going to a Casino in Mississippi, the crash happened in New Orleans where the trip originated from.

I really think jamming that many people into a moving projectile and racing down the road at break neck speeds is a very unwise thing to do.

Does everyone believe the official story that these were elderly Mexicans who didn't speak English coming from a casino at 5AM? I'm sorry but it seems more likely that they were not only elderly and they were picked up in the desert in the middle of the night after crossing the border illegally. 5AM is an odd time to e on the road leaving a casino.

The border isn't even close to the desert in Palm Springs. You're too funny! The total driving distance from Palm Springs, CA, to Tijuana, Mexico (border crossing) is 141 miles or 227 kilometers....2 hrs. 40 minutes!

By the way, casinos are open 24/7. They were being driven back to Los Angeles from the casinos! Very typical to be in casinos at 4 and 5am.

Your car must be very very slow and sucky to be cut off by a fucking BUS

With the high winds, some of those bus drivers go 10-15 miles an hour over the speed limit in those parts. They also don't watch for traffic when they're merging onto the freeway. I've seen cars, motorcycles and semis get cut off by them
