In case it slipped your awareness, the President doesn't have the expertise or time to single handedly run a country, this is why he has a board of advisers within the executive office who determine the policies of the US. In other words, it doesn't matter who is elected into office, the real power is in the hands of the heads of the agencies behind the Prez (and shadowy people beyond them).
