To actually release classified governmental and military information in an unsecured manner could theoretically be considered sedition or even straight treason.

I believe aspects of what you are saying... but a super intelligent rogue AI, "trillions of times smarter" than a human -- controlled by the US Government. Those two ideas don't work together, for me. Why would it let itself be controlled and used as a weapon? Why wouldn't it pursue its own goals?

Ever read the novel Daemon by Daniel Suarez? Very good and similar idea.

On another note... last night I had a series of strange, vivid dreams that seemed to be about simulated reality. Almost episodic, the way it played out.

The first was a sort of introduction to the technology, as an entertainment/communications device -- but so immersive, you couldn't tell the difference between it and reality. People started using it to cheat on their spouses, because they could hook up with people who were potentially thousands of miles away and not be caught. Weird.

Next episode, a group or family was inside the sim, creating their literal "dream home" with just their thoughts. Cool.

Next couple seemed to be about people trying to run from an AI, or atleast an all-seeing, inescapable sort of authority. Ominous.

Last one was a more run down scenario. People forgot they were in a sim altogether, and were slaves to money. Just like we are now.

I know that's not really related OP, but I wanted to share without making my own thread. Most vivid, eye-opening dream I've had in some time.

I think it is paranoia more than fear, but I do love a good scare. That's why all the doomy threads are major click bait.

Even primitive AI picked Trump as the election winner, and AI treating cancer patients because it is smarter than doctors.

AI beat humans at jeapordy a decade ago. When you consider that, once it becomes self aware and self-learning, the AI evolves at basically the speed of light, it is quite simple to understand that the AI is already superintelligent.

very good...Using A.I an an analogy to our current situation as beings living in the universe...the universe in a sense is a big never ending math eqauition trying to solve itself....we are ai living in this machine.
