Your insulin level will still be elevated. You must fast to gain the metabolic advantage and lose weight. [link to intensivedietarymanagement.com (secure)] |

Congratulations on your weight loss! Here's the quote I posted on Amazon about the book. You can see I'm also post-menopausal and lost a lot of weight too. I have arthritis badly as well, but love swimming, it's easy on my joints, and then there's the hot tub after. Weight lifting is also excellent to add in for toning, it doesn't take long at all, and you get results fast. As older women, we need to keep up our strength. "Hands down the BEST weight loss book ever written!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Fung! I started losing weight on my 55th birthday in August 2014, at 359 pounds. Using a low-carb diet and intermittent fasting, I got down to 230 by summer of 2016. And stayed there. And stayed there. I was ready to give up hope when I found "The Obesity Code". Turns out, I was sabotaging my fasting with stevia. I stopped that, and dropped 15 more pounds rapidly, and am well on course to be under 200 pounds by 2017. Then there's that final stretch to 159, to lose a total of 200 pounds. I don't think I would have made it without Dr. Fung. Thanks again." ps yes trolls, I know I was a fat f*** (but I'm fixing it) |

When you hit your goal follow up with intermittent fasting or it will come back on. Spread the word, change the collective conscious...... Changed my life at 53. When I was younger I used to run long distances to be in shape. I was doing 1/2 marathons in the 1hr 40min range. Doing 20+ mile runs on the weekend. But, the knees reached a point they said it was time to hang it up. Weight over eights years climbed from 190 to 272. Tried to control it with CrossFit, but gym went out of business with Covid and I moved to a rural area out East. Weight has been a struggle since the running stopped. I read the book at the end of June. Found Dr. Fung on YouTube as well. I'm going to hit a 20 pound weight loss inside of 6 weeks. Just two more to go. I only eat between 4 and 8 pm. The first two weeks, 2 pm was rough, but getting results so I hung in. I don't feel the need to gorge at night either. That was the most surprising part. In fact, the portions are smaller than when I used to eat three times a day. I'm still drinking wine or beer while losing this weight and not counting calories. I've adjusted to the change and love it. Doesn't feel like a diet or suffering. No post meal crash after eating lunch. I quit grazing and snacks. Mind is clear and sharp all day long. I've nearly eliminated sugar. No more Coke or Monster . Less time in the bathroom. Digestion issues and the need for an antiacid before bed are gone. The savings is easily $20/day with today's food prices. Last Edited by Finny47 on 08/20/2023 11:02 AM Finny47 |
