Well just as I predicted my senior management decided instead of giving those (like myself) a small raise to cover the difference so I would still be exempt, they just decided to eliminate my fucking position! I had two options: leave, or take a 58% pay cut to be hourly with no guarantee of full-time status. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47339874 So on your way out thanx again for fucking me over! The sad truth of the matter is if you are a long time employee of any large corporation, at some point, you become too expensive with the yearly raises, bonuses, etc. If your job can be eliminated or you can be replaced with cheaper labor, you will be. Government workers can be the laziest workers of all, but they have so many safeguards put in, they usually manage to keep their jobs except in the instance of eliminating the position. But it amazes me how the most inefficient people in the world can keep their jobs. Both systems suck. |

His employer did it. Wow, some of you people are severely lacking in brains. The employer is responding to regulations by a outside entity that couldn't care less what happens to either the business or its employees and who will suffer no personal consequences from the effects of the rules it imposes. “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - CS Lewis The employer still does not have to do it. I bet you make 90,000 a year you know when a slave wage earner gets on GLP to complain about being screwed over, your types just love to rub salt in the wounds. IE get an education quit your crying roll up your sleeves its all your fault How's it feel? You really are a dick You know that? I made My first 100K working for a company making 11.50 an hour. You might call Me a liar but back then I was paid 11.50 for every hour I was away from home. I easily spent 9 months that year on the water working 18 hour days. So just because someone makes over 100k does not automatically mean they didn't earn it or they have a high hourly rate. Oh btw Obama ended that job with His regulations and that company went out of business last year asshole. I have held minimum wage jobs all my life and live pay to pay. Of course I know how your types feel about that Im a piece of crap useless eater, maybe not you specifically but.. I didn't go to college I did not want student loan debt. Im really glad I didn't now. Your about to find out if debt is really Money. That Illusion is about to crumble to pieces! I have enjoyed watching the higher class being taken down some pegs by Obama. Anyway this useless eater and Im out Then that is your problem and not theirs. It's your choice to make minimum wage so why do you spend so much time envying others? Also don't you realize that you are worth more than a minimum wage job? Seriously if all you expect is a minimum wage job then that's what you will earn. There are still entry level positions out there that don't make 100k a year but easily make way more than minimum wage crap. |

What a POS. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72403177 That is the concern of small business and workers as well. It can hurt small business which we would rather keep and have more of because that creates more jobs. More jobs create more revenue in the state and in federal. Retailers and Restaurants we do not want them to decrease. It is geographics which are not equal in states economies or cost of living based alot on types of jobs there according to resources. It is polarities of economic ideology and views, such as left or right polarity economics. Hopefully Trump will balance things out, yet like OP he may get losses prior to Trump getting in and right before Christmas. [link to www.pbs.org] At the suggestion that employers will lower base salaries, Labor Secretary Thomas Perez said that the behavioral economics suggests “it is especially imprudent to respond to the folks who are effectively running the place by lowering their salary.” Businesses will have until Dec.1 to determine how to comply with the regulations. “The regulation demonstrates this administration’s determination to control employers instead of creating conditions for economic growth,” said Randy Johnson of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Likewise, de Rugy’s review of the literature suggests such regulations will have an overall negative effect on employment that will be felt over time. “Labor is a good or a service like everything else. When its price goes up, the demand goes down,” said de Rugy. The most precious things are the simple things in life, always present in the simplest of minds. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 73324455 Canada 11/14/2016 04:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Businesses are in business to make money. As a former employer, if a new tax law or increase in minimum wage came along and I can't afford it, I would let an employee go or cut his wages, work longer hours myself for less money, or raise prices (not good for business). So sorry, but employers have to make unpopular decisions once in a while; and the person who is affected will have a gripe towards everyone involved. It's all part of doing business and dealing with governmental regulations. |

Here's the thing!! I wouldn't be so sure he's going anywhere!! Don't get me wrong here, I am a HUUUUGE Trump supporter. However, there are some troubling things I've come across that I cannot ignore such as ; The recent Executive Orders he's written that have EXPIRATION DATES that end by March 2017. Regarding space debris, arresting citizens, leave for family due to deaths, fema, and more... ( whitehouse.gov) 2. The Obama's staying in DC!! They have purchased a multi million dollar home in DC . No other former prez has done that , of all the places to live WHY would they decide to stay in DC?! 3. He told his oldest daughter to take a year off before going to college ...WTF?! WHO does this!! ( Why would he want her to stay with them for a year?) I believe these people ARE plainly, and in clear sight TELLING the American people EXACTLY what they are doing, and I'm just not so positive he is on his way out... I hope & pray he is, but WHY would he write these executive orders with EXPIRATION DATES on them for the first quarter of 2017!? Ask yourselves THAT question... >> Einstein: The are renting the home in DC not buying it. |
