Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71041527 Humans enjoy living near water. Those in need of social services will also show up to those area. Where as, usually self sufficient people will move to areas that geographically suck because you need a reason to live there. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73372133 Greece 11/15/2016 03:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | True. The electoral college was a wise creation. Otherwise, candidates would just visit California, Florida, New York, and Texas every election cycle. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71041527 Except, the electoral college has nothing to do with the "winner takes all" policy decided by each state individually and the subdivision of the surface area of the US into states and districts within states, each of which adds 1 elector. Now i am not sure which were the factors involved into deciding how many district each state like Texas for example gets, but if it was decided based on the surface area, then those who endorse this system are also endorsing for the rich land owners' vote to be more powerful than people living in cities. In the future, more and more people will be cramped into cities, while the top 0.01% will own all land and resources, with robots working on the fields rather than humans. Who knows, if one day, all of the surface area of Texas will be owned by a handful individuals with robots working the fields and extracting resources. Would you want this handful of individuals to be able to control which 38 electors will be chosen? Not to mention that this stupid system of "winner takes all" results in some peoples' vote not counting at all, hence they would be better off relocating to a swing state where they could make a difference. It become a game of perfectly relocating people into the swing states/districts to ensure each vote cast would maximise the chances of success. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71041527 Poor, unemployed black people in the Delta. Clinton used to hand out money to them on voting day, but he wasn't the first. Maybe we shouldn't vote by state, but as individuals in Federal elections. I have ALWAYS hated the "winner take all" procedure for federal votes. maybe states shouldn't even be able to count the federal votes. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you.
