Now a group of physicists has suggested that the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the largest particle collider in the world, may be able to uncover the existence of parallel universes, should they exist.

In a new paper published in Physics Letters B, Ahmed Farag Ali, Mir Faizal, and Mohammed M. Khalil explain that the key to finding parallel universes may come from detecting miniature black holes at a certain energy level. The detection of the mini black holes would indicate the existence of extra dimensions, which would support string theory and related models that predict the existence of extra dimensions as well as parallel universes.

"Normally, when people think of the multiverse, they think of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, where every possibility is actualized," Faizal told Phys.org. "This cannot be tested and so it is philosophy and not science. This is not what we mean by parallel universes. What we mean is real universes in extra dimensions. As gravity can flow out of our universe into the extra dimensions, such a model can be tested by the detection of mini black holes at the LHC. We have calculated the energy at which we expect to detect these mini black holes in gravity's rainbow [a new theory]. If we do detect mini black holes at this energy, then we will know that both gravity's rainbow and extra dimensions are correct."

Well, I think it's become obvious it's a sickness over there. No sane or rational people would ever conduct themselves that way and they have become a group of 6 (or is it 7) deluded people who cannot help themselves. It's funny that they think they are in a forum war though. What IS that? No one on GLP thinks they are in a "forum war". It's like watching peasants revolt in a field from our castle LMAO. Peasants will do as peasants will do. I mean, do adults actually HAVE forum wars? Is that a thing? It actually is painful to watch them. I am so embarrassed for those people right now. What's a forum war? It involves dozens if not hundreds of ppl on both sides. They place can't even have a tickle fight let alone a forum war.

Especially considering glp doesn't give a shit about that site. So they're just having an imaginary war that only they are playing with no enemy.

Well, we all know stupid is as stupid does and they have gone above and beyond embarrassing themselves and making themselves seem like rather sick individuals. A toast to our beloved friend, a very real and very special human who left behind a grieving family that I sincerely hope never ever sees what is written about her. As if they could find an obituary for a person who's real name they don't even know? Not to mention Tandym was a published author and had a pen name she used. Anyway, love you, Tandym, and miss you daily. If only she could read GLP from wherever she flew off to. She grew her wings. I miss her big laugh but I'm fairly certain it's laughing at them.

We have this (literally) lofty goal of wanting to put humans on Mars. The problem with this one is rather huge:

Cells, especially in a complex organism, don't function properly under the different gravity. Eventually, if you succeeded in such a manned mission, everyone would just get sick and die faster than normal. Furthermore, even if everyone didn't perish, no one would be able to reproduce. That's kind of a downhill bummer for any sort of long-term goals, isn't it?

LOL yeah, she was not a shrinking violet which is why we loved her. People thought she was very passive and calm--which she was--but she defended her friends and I will protect her and her memory as will many people here. She was a kind, loving person until you fucked with her. Some people here have read her books (I will not name them publicly but I know bigD bought some) and her author profiles have her photo and whatnot attached to them. She had a twitter, a blog, etc., it's not like GLP was her only online place. Not to mention she had a presence online LONG before (years!) she even knew us. I honestly hope Mr. Tandym never reads any of that stuff. I think he's been through enough trauma. Say what they want about us but a dead person? New level of low.

Well, I mean, the level of paranoia and lack of logical thinking in accusing every single person of being us is really quite extraordinary. I mean, some of these people are close to being grandparents in age and they are acting like this? How embarrassing for them! I'd be ashamed of my mother or grandmother if I knew she was behaving like such a kook, even if only on the internet. Wow. LOL

The idea is to create biodomes but even then they can only guess the math in regards to how it will effect the human body. There's variables that are frankly unknown until they get in there and see what happens.

We haven't even properly studied the effects of microgravity on single-celled organisms, like yeast. It might seem silly, but if you can't successfully brew beer on the ISS, then there are a lot more far-reaching implications which have nothing to do with brewing beer...

We can't artificially create the necessary gravity conditions, either. It will never be possible to zip around space in a fucking sealed tin can, and we won't be residing on another planet (or moon), either. This solar system is one and done. Everyone better get used to what's left of this filthy rock...and there won't be any visitors, either.

It's TOTALLY COOL that our tax dollars are wasted on dead ends, though!

Everything was impossible until it wasnt.

They think bacteria grows in the caves with moisture on mars and thats life being sustained.

Trying to tell scientist not to try and find a way to expand on that is like telling someone with tourette's syndrome not to cuss.

We should definitely start on the moon though. Trying to colonize mars without first openly colonizing the moon doesn't even remotely make sense.
