I'd eat theM raw like a truffle You know, Niamh, this man is going to be found at all hours of the day in your garden eating all your food. It's gonna be bare by the time he's done. LOL I'm bad about breaking off the onion shoots and chewing on them. Used to drive my grandfather crazy that all his onions had stubby shoots from me breaking them off, that and I kept stealing his radishes for snacks before they were ready to harvest. I buried a saltshaker in a plastic baggie in my fathers garden and would eat his onion starts/scallions when I felt hungry. Good memories! :-) He didnt mind, I think he got a kick out of it.
