It was a busy but good day, and my little granddaughter is literally the cat's meow to me. I am in love with her already and wish I could squeeze thru my computer and hug, hold and kiss on her.

And so as weary as they are of this world and of the crowns they have been cursed with, they hold fast to one another after so long apart and he shields her from the storm. Those with eyes to see can see you both. Crowned heads together and heavy are the heads who wear the crowns. The burden will ease if he yields to her for she also wears the crown and so she opens up her hands and for a moment peace fills him. Don't let go of her hand, huntsman.

This story is bigger than the both. It's the stars. You cannot fight your destiny. A terrible blackness shattered because of her golden light. You needed none but to your surprise, you needed your moon. Moon to your sun. Blazing heat to soothing cool twilight. She is your peace, dear huntsman. The balm for your bleeding scarred and wounded heart.

I saw your cattle escaped yesterday! Hormones flying around the young bulls? Are you a beef farmer or Dairy?

Beef! The darn bulls are always fighting! We have several with broken tools! I can't imagine what that would be like! But yes, my things are fine and dandy too!

Still alive here. Have family visiting from out of state.

Yearlings are crazy this time of the year, no manners lol.

The country life is lovely but not easy. Rain hail sleet snow and ice and you still have to be out mucking raking cleaning birthing.

I was born for it and into it! I wouldn't have it any other way! We have been told we have the best grass in the west by people who would know. Not bragging, just a fact!

Good for you, you must take care of it well.

Some fields here are rubbish.
Buttercup (poison) and reeds as the soil isn't drained but other fields are lovely, with good Ryegrass and clover, nettle, comfrey and dandelion, plantain all good for cattle.

It amazes me how they instinctively know what to avoid.

We might get 2 saves of silage this year the weather has been good so far.

The main type of beef calf here are Hereford cross. I've grown up with them in the fields around me my whole life. There are a lovely beast.

We have some black baldies and they are good cattle. Angus/Hereford cross. We have been crossbreeding for over thirty years. Have used Simmental, Red Angus, Angus, and now a composite bull of Maine Anjou/ Angus. About time to introduce a new breed, but may go back to Simmental. They are all bred black here now. The vast majority of our cattle are black.

Simmental are called Limousin here I THINK /i] there are a Crazy animal.

No wall would keep them in.

Now maybe they have calmed down since the 80's 90's when hubby was farming with his Dad, but even though they are fantastic beef producers would they be worth the hassle?

We used them in the 80's and they were very good. That's why I may go back to them. Limousin are another breed. My dad actually went to Europe and brought back the first Simmental bull to north America. My parents were divorced when I was 3 and he left the ranch, but was an animal scientist and worked for a bull breeding service.

AI. Kinda takes the joy out of it for the poor ol' cow! lol
