Do you believe in faith healing?
Quote

I know that several of you that are reading this do not even believe in God, let alone faith healing and I'm not judging you by any means.

But for those of you that believe it and have been healed or have seen other people healed, I would like to hear your stories please.

I believe in the placebo effect and the one in a million case whose immune system got its act in gear and cleaned house, or the other one in a million dude whose first HIV test was botched and there never was anything to cure...it happens.

One night I was at the home of friends visiting and their son woke up with a terrible cough. I had had pnumonia a few weeks earlier and I knew the sound and feel and how much he must be suffering. My heart swelled with pity for this boy ( as my throat closes now in memory) and I just reached out in empathy and touched his shoulder. He was sitting on his mothers lap. She eventually put him back to bed, to visit the doctor in the morning. I thought nothing of it until a couple weeks later when I talked to this mother again. She said when I touched the boys shoulder, a rush of energy flowed through the boy and into her and she felt it clearly. In the morning, the boy woke up with no trace of a cough. When she told me that I started bawling, I was awed.

No, I would associate it with the power of suggestion, the neurons running directly from the brain to the lymph nodes, and the biochemical changes caused by happiness that promote better immune system function.

Yes I do.

I was instantly healed back in 1987.

A few other prayers eased the constant pain I'm in.

Re: Do you believe in faith healing?Quote

The reason that I ask is because God has called me into a healing ministry. About two years ago, God used me to heal people. I was very strong in my faith and I could pray for people or lay hands hands on them and they would be healed. Here are some examples...

My family and I prayed for my dad because he had cancer in his eye. He was healed!

He then came down with stomach cancer. They found it on Friday and when he went in for surgery on Tuesday, it was gone.

My sister had a 6mm lesion on her brain and we laid hands on her and she was healed.

A lady from our church was dying of lung cancer. She had less than six months left to live. I had such a burden for her because she said the hardest part of knowing that she was going to die is leaving her daughter, who was about 10. She was holding on to her mother's hand so tight and she was crying. (it broke my heart) She wanted us to pray for her that she could stop smoking before she died. Instead, I prayed that God would heal her. A couple weeks later she came back to church and she was cancer free.

These are the "big" testimonies. God has also used me to heal several headaches and backaches and colds.

BUT THIS WAS TWO YEARS AGO!

I quit church because the preacher didn't like the fact that God used me to heal people. He said some very cruel things and it did a number on my faith. So, I quit church all together.

Well, God called me back to church about a week before Thanksgiving. He wants me to use my gift of healing. It's been hard getting started again because I'm having to gain back my faith that I seemed to have lost when I quit praying for people. It's been hard.

But so far I've been able to heal seven people (of minor things)in the past couple of weeks.

I started to go on by, but no, this is GLP. Ok, I have a real problem with people who say they got healed of one ailment, but a half a dozen other conditions continue to exist. Ie. Someone who claims they got healed of cancer, but still have arthyritis, a heart condition and migraines. It seems to me that if God really were to heal someone, that they would be COMPLETELY healed.

well, friend of ours said that GOD healed him from his Diabetes II during one of the prayer services.
Well, about a month later his diabetes got so bad, that doctors had to cut his toe off, and now he got a bone infection

Yes, my Mother was healed from diabetes also. She was having to take two insulin shots a day and they was talking about upping the dosage. She was a very spiritual woman, and since none of the churches in our area really believes in faith healing she went to another state where my sisters live and went to their church for prayer.

I personally believe she was already healed by her faith before she went there. As she had stopped taking her shots many days before hand with no ill effects.

When she went to the Dr. for a checkup he was AMAZED. NO sign of diabetes and it NEVER came back.

I prayed for myself once time. I had the flu and there was some things going on in my life that left no time for sickness. I asked God to take the illness away from me and HE did. It left as suddenly as it came.

One of my employees had a stroke in the stockroom and died, a fellow employee freaked and started screaming, " She's dead! She's dead!" All of the employees cam running to the site and the assistant manager ran into my office and told me to come quick because Lelia had died. I ran to the site and their was crying and screaming and I asked everyone to calm down and pray. I touched the back of her head and prayed aloud. She bolted upright and asked what had happened. I explained what had happened and she started to cry. I believe that Jesus Christ and God healed her.

I showed up for Pentecost. I had a high fever & was very nauseated. I asked one of the ministers to annoint me. He laid hands on me & I was instantly healed. Fever gone & so was the nausea.

As far as the pain goes, the constant pain started 8 years ago when I had a cyst on my right ovary for 8 weeks. When we went to New Orleans for the birth of a new Church of God church, I asked again to be annointed. I had been bed ridden for most of the previous year because the pain was so bad.

The pain eased up so that I could at least work, take care of my kids & go to their activities & once again enjoy my menagerie of animals. (birds, guinea pigs, dog & the outdoor animals that visit my yard)

Just because I wasn't healed completely doesn't mean God doesn't heal. There is a reason why I still have pain. If I had health insurance I would go to a Dr. to confirm what I already know - Fibromylagia. I get by, I take it easy when I need to & enjoy my life as much as I can.

Re: Do you believe in faith healing?Quote

I had a dramatic "faith healing" once.
I had a bad case of bleeding gums, like they would bleed when I would brush my teeth. They would bleed on both the inside of the gums and the outside of the gums (cheek side and tongue side).

My girlfriend dragged me off to see her latest healer find. (She was good at finding strange people.)
All he did was to use his finger to trace over the outsides of my cheeks over where my gums are located.

I wasn't very impressed at the time, but when I got home and checked my gums, my upper and lower gums no longer bled on the outside when I brushed my teeth, but the gums on the inner, tongue part still would bleed. That was fast, for the part that got healed anyway.

I could hardly believe it, but apparently just the area closest to where he put his finger stopped bleeding.

Maybe "faith healing" isn't the right term for it as I didn't have any faith in him.
Maybe he had some energy or something that came out of his finger and caused the healing.
Whatever happened was out of the ordinary.

Most definitely. Went to one once and had my ulcers, heart problems, and arthritis cured. He said God deserved all the credit-- not him. Asked him what happens if you don't believe in God.

He said it doesn't matter -- God believes in you. Truly spiritual man.

Hi Dreamseeker:) It's been a while. So good to see you back posting again. I think it's wonderful that God has called you to this much needed ministry. I'm relatively a healthy person except for one ailment that is very bothersome and often times debilitating. I suffer from what my grandma calls a nervous stomach. I get hit with nausia often and it usually has no bearing on any one thing. I also suffer from Acid Reflux disease and IBS. While the prescription I take seems to control the last two, the nausia and anxiety that plague me can be an awful way to live at times. I know there are others much worse off than me, but I would still like to feel healthy again. I have always had a nervous stomach ever since childhood. So it would truely be a blessing if it could go away for good. Thank you so much DS and welcome back:)

don't worry DreamSeeker about preachers or other members of the church if they don't like your healing... it's about fellow-humans, yourself and God anyway, and the church is just a medium for that... I'm a bit skeptical, but then again, I know some accounts where people were healed by faith, so I believe in your cases... I'd like to thank you for doing this for people... (also, I don't want to be using anyone, but if you could slightly help me to lose my headaches.. it's nothing big, but I can't quite get rid of them...)

Re: Do you believe in faith healing?Quote

A few years ago,I noticed when I went by a radio the volumn went up.And I saw a white triangle in the palms of my hands.
I lived in Austin and went to a New Age Workshop,They had this ugly middle age lady lay on a cot and as I moved my hands over her I picked up a magnetic energy that stuck to my hand,The girl in charge had me wash it off under running water,
I diden't like this stuff from this ugly lady sticking to me,And never tried it again,
Lately The magnetic tingles in the palms has increased to the point that a haze is between my fingers and coming out the finger tips which I can project as a light energy.
I don't know why I have it or what I can do with it;I am not a church goer, Thinking no one has the ability to know what God is,,So I am not a faith healer,
Any one know anything about my condition?
