Forgot to add, I used to break our wild bought horses, can't be any harder than an abused horse to break and ride.
Just need to show them who is boss before they stomp you.

Big horses require big girl panties.

Re: Just about reached the end of my rope.
Hi Tess.
It happened to me. (Someone drove my car through a massive water puddle and water got into the engine from the air intake manifold)

This is what I did.

1) I drained the engine oil (leave the plug off)
2) Removed all 4 spark plugs
3) Crank engine for 5 to 10 seconds bursts perhaps 3 to 4 times(to clear any water from the top of the engine and valve head) You may need to hook up a battery charger/booster if the battery is weak.

4) clean spark plugs and re-install (I replaced them)
5) Screw the engine oil pan plug back on.
6) fill with proper oil.
7) Start engine. (It may take 2 or 3 tries to start)

This may work or not depending on 2 factors: 1 how much water was poured in the crank case and 2 how long was the engine running before it failed.

Good luck

you seem nice, and I'll comment to help. The car might not be ruined. have someone drain the tank and fuel lines, then refill with good gasoline. It is not that difficult to do, I'm sure there is even an online video.

I think Tess' niece put the water where the oil is supposed to go.
 Quoting: Fret Wiz

I've heard a person once call it the 710 cap. Asking if that was the type of oil needed.

Said, no ma'am. That is the word OIL upside down. Boy did she turn red faced at the auto store.

What you take for granted having a car and not living in the middle of nowhere! I'm stranded and starting to feel desperate.

A few weeks back I lent my car to my niece.  Long story short she poured water into the engine (oil tank) instead of the radiator. Car's toast. My nearest shop's miles away. I've managed to order food and animal feed online but they're starting to moan about my road and might not deliver in the winter. I haven't left the farm in weeks and don't know what to do when my bottled gas runs out. Can't even order stuff in the post as the postman just leaves a card in the box saying to pick up a parcel in town.

I love the countryside but at times like this city life seems so easy.
 Quoting: Tess.

No matter how bad ya got it,someone else has got it worse. No matter how good ya got it, someone else has it better.

And even if you did have it the worst, someone else will come to fill that place eventually.

And if you've had it the best, it will only be for alittle while, and someone else will come along & take that too.

Some may ask "Why?" I say would you rather have not existed at all?

And I know of those that'd say "Just kill me now then!"

I say the door is right there, it's not like anyone is holding a gun against your head forcing you to exist.

If you want out, you know where the door is.

All I can honestly say is I don't know whats behind that door but we are all going to hafta walk thru it at some point.

So suck it up & press forward or fall to the wayside.

These things & more could all be arranged I'm sure, but alas I am but a mere observer.

No answers from me, just more questions..

WTF?,To require that kind of work you must have driven into a lake, puddles don't force that much water into a intake?

In the Southwest (United States) they have massive rain storms and the water flows into low places called dips. Some people are dumb enough to try to drive through the dips and the water is as high as the top of the hood.

Lately things have been going to shit here too. We lost a lot in a natural disaster and since then ive been losing my mind. My wife is a shopaholic so Black Friday is always a stressful time anyway, but im not 100% healthy so ive been selling all of my valuables so my family can have a Christmas this year.

I do all this plus make sure they all have food to eat and people fight with me all day its damn crazy!

Hope things get better Tess!

Re: Just about reached the end of my rope.
been there too, first when you get to the end of your rope tie some more on and keep on keeping on....this too will pass and as hard as it is you will come out the other side, just stay determined. sit down and feel sorry and be mad if you must, but get back up and be determined. ask the neighbors for help, so they didn't like your ex, apparently you didn't either or wouldn't be an ex, maybe they will see that and understand. I have deep negative feelings for my neighbor, however I still help them.

for all those offering fix ideals, has it been considered that water freezes, seems it is cold there. that engine is also likely a interference engine so that may complicate the problem depending on what has already been damaged.

for those that feel negative about helping fund.....I would rather help and let any wrong doing, if that was the case, be on the conscious of the other than myself. I don't want to ever have it said you could and wouldn't to me.

Take care, dear. Prayers are with you. Let us know as soon as you get approval for crowd funding. hf
