(Someone drove my car through a massive water puddle and water got into the engine from the air intake manifold) This is what I did. 1) I drained the engine oil (leave the plug off) 2) Removed all 4 spark plugs 3) Crank engine for 5 to 10 seconds bursts perhaps 3 to 4 times(to clear any water from the top of the engine and valve head) You may need to hook up a battery charger/booster if the battery is weak. 4) clean spark plugs and re-install (I replaced them) 5) Screw the engine oil pan plug back on. 6) fill with proper oil. 7) Start engine. (It may take 2 or 3 tries to start) This may work or not depending on 2 factors: 1 how much water was poured in the crank case and 2 how long was the engine running before it failed. Good luck Re-post with corrections. I believe she's not taking mechanical advice at the moment. She is not able to get the oil drain plug out, causing a delay. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. That is a law of the universe. *** |

The car might not be ruined. have someone drain the tank and fuel lines, then refill with good gasoline. It is not that difficult to do, I'm sure there is even an online video. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73217168 I think Tess' niece put the water where the oil is supposed to go. I've heard a person once call it the 710 cap. Asking if that was the type of oil needed. Said, no ma'am. That is the word OIL upside down. Boy did she turn red faced at the auto store. |

Quoting: Deplorable Doomfan45 ETA: Ok, I just saw your post that you're in Inagh. That's about 3 hours from him. No matter how bad ya got it,someone else has got it worse. No matter how good ya got it, someone else has it better. And even if you did have it the worst, someone else will come to fill that place eventually. And if you've had it the best, it will only be for alittle while, and someone else will come along & take that too. Some may ask "Why?" I say would you rather have not existed at all? And I know of those that'd say "Just kill me now then!" I say the door is right there, it's not like anyone is holding a gun against your head forcing you to exist. If you want out, you know where the door is. All I can honestly say is I don't know whats behind that door but we are all going to hafta walk thru it at some point. So suck it up & press forward or fall to the wayside. These things & more could all be arranged I'm sure, but alas I am but a mere observer. No answers from me, just more questions.. |

I have deep negative feelings for my neighbor, however I still help them. for all those offering fix ideals, has it been considered that water freezes, seems it is cold there. that engine is also likely a interference engine so that may complicate the problem depending on what has already been damaged. for those that feel negative about helping fund.....I would rather help and let any wrong doing, if that was the case, be on the conscious of the other than myself. I don't want to ever have it said you could and wouldn't to me. |

Christmas is coming up, perfect excuse to take a tin of cookies to get acquainted. With harder times in store soon for all of us, I think, it's necessary to NOT be going it alone. Especially imperative for you, if you are there alone in rural conditions, not prepared with the gear you need for rural living, and a lot of hungry dependents. Take care, dear. Prayers are with you.
