I like those old mystery theatre shows to listen to when your out doin the fishin and the campin. When you're doin it alone out far an proper like and all you got's is the radio, you feel the disconnect from people (and always a bit of a chill, eh) yet, not abandoned cause A.M. AND IT"S FUNNY, funny cause when yer out there all alone and you ought to be ascared of the bears and the nickets and cricks in the bush they do the same thing they did to ya as a young un.

We pay it here too. It is lumped together with your property taxes and is compulsory, unless you can prove you have absolutely no means of receiving any services etc. If you have a comp, that is counted as such too.

They tried this in NZ years ago. Most people refused to pay it - including me. I don't believe at the time their was any legislation that enforced it.

You have to pay for any smart devices in your home too, I forgot how much now but you do get billed for them, smart phones, tablets, hi-fi, computers, that sort of thing...
