Those are one-off individual rulers. Their SOCIETIES were ruled by men

it's hard, because they missed a lot of history experience now. it's thousands of years.

it used to be this way, but it was pretty bad at that time (long time ago).
they used to copy insects organization, you know: like bees with queen bee that hates all other queens, having few temporary chads around for propagation and all others have to serve her without having their own personality and needs... pyramids are also copy of insects behavior I guess...

now it's better, everything progressed, I think. I wish women to control emotions even much better.. if not, wars would never stop. when most of the women hates, it is forever, without forgiveness. That we need for woman rulers, and then- why not.

When I was younger, I was fascinated by the story of the explorer, Francisco de Orellana.

He started his exploration by crossing the Andes from Peru shortly after Pizarro had conquered the Incas. I remember that the Spaniards were winching their horses across a deep gorge on a rope, and most of the horses arrived dead pierced by numerous atlatl darts.

Orellana had about 300 battle-hardened men at arms plus horses, and war dogs. He reached the uppper Amazon River and they built boats.

As they floated down the river, they were under constant attack by the various tribes.

But, the most fearsome tribe was a tribe of women. One day, they saw a tall woman with a longbow standing on the bank. The Spaniards started hooting and calling to her. She drew her powerful bow and shot an arrow through the three inch plank side of the boat hitting a man in the leg.

The other Indians said that this tribe killed all male children at birth. They captured men for mating and then killed them.

They proved to be one of the fiercest tribes on the Amazon River. It was named for this tribe of women warriors.

If you mean actual matriarchal societies, yes. Today mostly in places like China or Africa. Just do a browser search and you can read all you want about them. I assume you don't just mean a woman in an elected leadership position, which appears to be most of the answers on this thread.
