Took 20 years to Trace my father's line accurately to about 900 AD. Only thing that helps is if you can link to nobility, the college of Herald's in the UK has records for related nobility and you can make connections but they will not be completely accurate (Names can go through spelling changes and even become anglicized to the point of no recognition). Now Trump's Is Drumpf. From waht I can tell you can go back to Late Viking age (during the change over to the christian era) with some sense of accuracy. |

It is almost always the poor that immigrate. Many wealthy English families had second, third, forth, etc. sons who came to America because the oldest son was going to get the inheritance back home. So most white Americans who descend from settlers from the 1600's and 1700's do have lines that descend from wealthy and aristocratic English families. They probably also have a number of lines of descent from the poor as well. |

The fifth son is the Duke of Edinburgh. He has five sons. The fifth son is a baron. His oldest son inherits the title but the other ones just get some land. Their sons may or may not do well, even though their great-grandfather was a king, and their children might become impoverished and eventually join the ranks of commoners with no inkling of their royal ancestry. Some of them may work their way back up to knighthood or obtain a title, and so on. Most people of English descent are related to one another and all people of European descent are related to each other, however remotely. A 19th cousinhood is not all that unusual and certainly doesn't spell conspiracy. If you are of English descent, you'll probably be successful in tracing your lineage to English royalty, and from there to French, Spanish, Danish, German, etc. royal blood. |
