It's true. I have been pointing this out for years. The South gets the blame for all the racism and has the least.

There is a reason the westbank is called the worstbank. The east is even worse. Stay out of the 9th upper and lower and the "New Marigny" (7th) is just as bad as is St. Roch. Marigny and Bywater Bourgeois might be okay but stay off St. Claude...ah screw it. Just get a hotel on Canal and you'll be fine...no wait if you step onto Bourbon street on a big football weekend. Ahh just stay away...even the long time locals are moving out in droves.

South: New Orleans - White man shoots Black man from inside his car. Residents threaten to riot and then spray paint BLM on Lee circle because the statue made them angry and smash some bank windows. Oh wait those were white hipsters that did that after Trump won...

In the meantime in above neighborhoods B on B crime keeps on keeping on. A cop abused several kids who also allowed drug houses in 5th district to stay open in exchange for favors from the dealers kids...

There is crime everywhere. CBD (Casino) has it's fair share as does Gentilly/Mid City (Fairgrounds.) When you go to Jazz Fest shuttle bus or pay to park nearby. The blocks around it are shady. The main streets are kept nice and pretty, go into any area a few blocks and you will be met with blight. It is a shame really. Even worse than before Katrina. The gentrification of many downtown neighborhoods is only making more problems. Causing more crime by angry residents.
