Anyways so at 39 I thought a longboard skate deck would be good exercise. I looked on youtube to see if any other guys my age are taking up skating and there were tons!


So i guess its not such a ludicrous idea.

Apparently an old dude skater recently passed victor e i think his name was. RIP to that guy.

he was in his 70s and still riding crazy downhill.

so again the deck i got was

2016 landyactz switchblade 40" paris v2 trucks , bones mini bearings and divine street slayer wheels.


im going to find a way to bungee this thing to my bike so i can goto near by cities to skate.

Im trying here. With all the exercise you get from skating theoretically it will help me live longer.

I saw one video a 46yo guy took up longboarding and he lost 22lbs in 3 months allegedly.

thats wonderful for a 46yo to loose 22lbs.

Well I say theoretically because I haven't seen results yet because I haven't gotten my board yet . And allegedly because the 46yo guy said he lost 22lbs but provided no evidence.

But it makes sense. Exercise enough and you should experience weightloss.

But besides that I just think it would be fun to skate again. I dont think a double kick stunt board would be smart at my age but I think a longboard will be a lot of fun.

So wait , are you saying you deleted my orig thread to save me or others who might be influenced by my thread to take up skating to save us from injury or something?

How you gonna lose weight standing on a plank rolling downhill.

I haven't really skateboard much as a child mostly just rollerblade and BMX.

My 5 year old is learning to bike..i thought I might buy a longboard to spend time learning that so I can go cruise around with the 5year old.

Midlife crisis pfffft , this thing is fun as hell. I already put a few miles on her. . My calfs are burnin but this this alot of fun.

Not much of a cruiser. That is for some intense hill riding, here is my cruiser, I recommend rimmables models because they are longer than those drop deck, hill carving type boards.

FYI Medicare covers longboards now

I wouldnt say im a beginner. Perhaps at longboards but def not skating. I just havent done it in years. And Im going to get some gear and freeride gloves and learn how to drift.


but since these trucks can drop through or standard i can get it off the ground if need be.


thing cruises lovely too . I was surprised. The 78a wheels are smooth and glide on the roughest shit blacktop.


only thing im going to change is the bones mini logo bearings to a set of bones red. Bearings

my pushing ankle hurts and im sweatin like a pig. But this thing sure is fun.
