I've been lucid dreaming almost every night for weeks on end.
I've been lucid dreaming almost every night. It's incredible how realistic and amazing these dreams are. I'm struggling with the fact I have to wake up and now my waking life seems very dull and boring thanks to these extraordinary dream adventures. They really are BTL (Better-than-life) dreams. It's tragic to wake up from them because the fun, adventure and thrilling feeling of total freedom get's snubbed out.

Not that my waking life is bad, it's just no where near as interesting and thrilling as my lucid dream adventures. I meet the most interesting dream characters, walk in outstanding worlds, explore and ponder the very nature of existence while in them. It's a shame our society doesn't train us at childhood how to be conscious during sleep, most people are missing out on adventures of a lifetime from just a single night of sleep.

Now going to sleep is something I can't wait for. But my technique requires the NAP or WBTB method where you wake up (in my case at 4:00am) then get out of bed for about 30-60 minutes until I feel tired again. That's my queue to go back to sleep and apply my attention focusing technique on lucid dreaming. Following this method, I lucid dream almost every time.

Even the fall back into sleep is rich with vivid imagry and wonderful experiences. Now if this extraordinary quality can just spill out into my waking life I'd be set. But really, I'm getting bummed out because of how awesome the dreams are and well... the daily routine of my more mundane waking existence lol. Bitter sweet it is.

It's fairly easy, I even wrote a book on lucid dreaming which is just a free PDF which covers a lot of techniques and theory.

I had a concept for a graphic novel years ago about a guy who is addicted to sleep because of the wild dreams he has... they are better than waking- and he concocts all sorts of ways to put himself to sleep and stay there as long a possible... Went as far as doing a build-up with roughs and comps- just never put it into production- thanks for sharing OP.

I agree lucid dreams beat real life 1000 to 1.

Not that I have them all that often. Like you, I can only really do it if I wake up too early, and then go back to bed and manage to get back to sleep. It's the latter part that's difficult to me.

But when it does happen, goddamn! It's just not the adventures, and the total freedom to experience anything I want, it's that special feeling of magic that surrounds your entire experience.

Nothing compares in waking life. Nothing. Not even the best sex ever.

And speaking of sex, you can do that in lucid dreams too, and it's awesome. But the thing is, everything is awesome, so you don't really feel a need to!

Just walking in a straight line on a street in some random town is a totally absorbing and memorable adventure in a lucid dream.

Good thread.
Some good tips i have picked up over the years.
> Question reality.Do reality checks in waking life,Like jump up and ask yourself" is this a Dream?"Or every time you have a cigarette/coffee or any daily habitual thing. Then after some time you may start doing the same in your Dreams. If you jump up in a dream you may levitate/jump higher/fly or be in slow motion as the dream world has no gravity. This will Affirm you are dreaming and will become Lucid.

> Make a dream journal of your Dreams as soon as you wake up.This will improve recall and also make you think of Dreaming which can enhance lucidity.Reading a Lucid Dream book before sleep has also helped.

The greatest thing about Lucid Dreaming is the ability to fly at will and be conscious of it.When you wake you will feel so good for a few days after and will not stop thinking of it :)

Re: I've been lucid dreaming almost every night for weeks on end.
So what have you discovered and found out about reality during lucid dreaming op?

For example,

Are there aliens living in the moon? (You can go there and look while lucid dreaming)

Call out to any person whatsoever and discover earth secrets..

Converse with dead relatives and find out that thing they were going to tell you..

Discover your future perhaps..?

I see LD as an opportunity to acquire knowledge that is unavailable to us in the waking state.
I've only LD enough to know the reality 'there' is full of endless possibilities - i can do/see/say/become ANYTHING = and i mean absolutely ANYTHING.
Whatever the mind focuses on manifests before you immediately.

I have a list of things i want to find out when i next LD now i'm more familiar with the 'territory' there - but these past few months i haven't lucid dreamed at all which is a bummer!

I'm thinking of high dose B6 - already take 100mg every other day but its obviously not enough! Trying to keep it sane to prevent neuropathy issues!

The reality check is the key, and I do practice it in waking life which has also really helped for some reason because I end up doing it durign sleep hence the habit or pattern as you discussed seems legit.

Flying is a blast, everything is. It's a true Alice in Wonderland tumbling down the rabbit hole adventure.
