Antarctica - The facts behind what's really going on.

Hi Mary, I'll tell you what's going on in Antarctica: I know what's going on there because I've been monitoring glacial melt all across the world for nearly two decades. This past year, the west Antarctic ice shelves did not have a winter. Temperatures there barely dropped below zero the entire year - I know because I was monitoring the temperatures and sending out updates to my research friends. Then I got the report that 8,000 glacial lakes suddenly appeared in Antarctica - no surprise - then I got the report that Larsen C ice shelf opened up in the dead of winter - also no surprise - there's a huge erupting seamount right there by the Larsen ice shelf which has been rapidly melting the whole thing for years. Mary, the ice shelves and glaciers are being melted - from below - by geothermal heat. The Antarctic waters are 40 degrees F - even with all the massive volumes of frigid glacial melt. The Ross Ice Shelf has a 260-mile long crack extending from near the northern edge of the ice shelf all the way back to the southern edge of the Ross Sea - glacial melt flows down from the mountain directly below the crack. Extending from this huge crack are numerous other cracks. A glaciologist died in one of the cracks in October. Billions of tons of glaciers are resting on the east and west sides of the ice shelf, Mary. It's going to collapse and when it does, the glaciers will crash into the sea - a long series of colossal tsunami waves will follow and will - most likely - dislodge the other ice shelves which will result in the other glaciers crashing into the sea. Tsunami waves are expected to ripple all across the world. The trajectory of hundreds of independent sources of data strongly suggest the worldwide devastation will happen in 2017 - probably earlier in the year rather than later.
