I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. For years they have promoted their products with top of class features and performance with worldclass support. Now they are muttering and making up excuses while their customers wait. If anyone was to come into Vista with a good quality driver it would be Nvidia which shows that no one likely has a very reliable driver for their hardware. And what do you expect? When you buy the latest OS you become an unpaid beta tester for a product that only runs slower than the one you replaced while providing no new features required by any software on the market. Wait a year for support, bug fixes, and applications that require the new OS before jumping in. |

Bunch of bad Apples those User ID: 115 United States 02/03/2007 02:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Like I'm going to listen to that lying bastard Steve "we falsified our board meeting records" Jobs. Of course they don't want anyone to upgrade to Vista because it makes Mac operating systems look lame by comparison. Apple's boss Steve Jobs has been questioned by US government investigators about the company's alleged misuse of stock options, which has become the subject of a flurry of litigation. It emerged yesterday that Mr Jobs was interviewed last week by the US Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr Jobs was granted 7.5m share options in 2001. Apple has since admitted that the options were backdated by two months to make them more valuable - and that the records of company board meetings were falsified. -Guardian Unlimited |

Mac operating systems are the starting point of which microsoft steals ideas. Microsoft's own software OS dev guy disclosed in a private memo that mac is better [link to www.computerworld.com] he is saying if vista did not follow a certain dev path, he would be better off buying a mac. what does that tell you? so do you want to go with the uncreative also ran or the originator? If you honestly sat down at a mac and used it, you would see a superior system that is much more thought-out and oh by the way, FUCKING WORKS. Liberalism is a mental disorder. |
Phantom Geek User ID: 188102 Canada 02/03/2007 02:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Microsoft is crap. Real Geeks know that. Linux is what real Geeks use. Unfortunately, Best Buy and Geek Squad in league with Microsoft sell an inferior operating system that you'll have to call us at the Geek Squad to fix. Most consumers aren't aware that there are operating systems and office software suites that run better then the junk from Microsoft and don't cost the consumer a single penny. Walk into Best Buy and talk to the average Geek Squad agent and they are totally ignorant about Linux, Open Office and other open source software. Why are they ignorant? There is no money in it for Best Buy, Geek Squad or Microsoft. I'm not allowed to mention free open source solutions to customers that will solve their problems for $0 because Geek Squad and Best Buy don't make $ off real technical support. We take the consumer to the cleaners because they don't want to take a little time to fix problems that they could resolve with minimal research on Google. I hate Microsoft and I hate Best Buy being in bed with Microsoft. I hate not being able to provide people the best solution because the solution is either inexpensive or free. Unfortunately, I'm stuck working for them until I can finish my computer science degree. |
