Why until the mid 90's did people think smoking indoors was acceptible? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 71994152 United States 12/11/2016 05:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The anti smoking agenda has always been about conditioning people to accept regulation and follow orders. It's not like they really care about our health. Kinda like how they've conditioned people to shelter in place and get "locked down" whenever there is a threat. "It's alright, I'm from the government, and I'm here to help." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71614634 No it has not. It's about health. Plus, medical conditions of aged smokers clogs up hospitals and pushes up insurance rates for everyone. ^^^The poster said as they shoveled more shitty pre-prepped, cellulose laden, de-nutrified store food into their mouth.... pssstt...it's the MEDICAL INDUSTRY that pushes up insurance rates by being able to charge whatever they fucking feel like charging for services and products. Brought to you by your friendly politicians. A bought and paid for legal monopoly. |

Why the fuck was that ever shrugged off as normal? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31171614 OMFG Take a fucking look at yourself you thick cunt The question is "why did people suddenly decide in the mid 90's that smoking was unacceptable indoors?" You are nothing but a program, only the program would ask the question the way you just did You are dead inside, well done muppet Not happy with contemptuously changing peoples behaviour in your present and immediate surroundings, that you've got to drag the past up and have a go at people 'back then' A live global genocide is occuring with mind control technology and you are blissfully unaware of it, instead you want to bitch and whine how society wasn't engineered enough 'back then' go watch some miley genocide cyrus you fuk nut I applaud your lucidity and awareness. |

If smokers want to risk their own health, fine. But not that of others. Also, proud that it started here in Ireland. |

Then we noticed the smell. You don't notice the smell if you grow up with it. You only notice the smell when it's not there and then you smoke then you really notice it. |

Quoting: Anemone Reef AK ...I've never tried a cigarette... I like the smell of some, though...especially cigars and pipes- Before that, there was a flip-open ashtray in every armrest throughout the plane and people could smoke wherever they wanted to. People smoked on NYC buses, subways and while shopping in department stores, freely. I remember people smoking while riding the escalators in stores. Times sure have changed. |

That's what it was all about in the late 80's and early 90's, the scientific health threat from second hand smoke and the resulting lawsuits that would inevitably come from people forced to breathe second hand smoke on the job. |

"Mad Men" ...same thing. Remember in the original "The Shining" when the mom lit one up in the hospital. Smoking was a cultural norm from a very long time until not so long ago. When they kicked it out of public buildings...ok, I get it. When they kicked it out of bars...that, was bullshit. I didn't mean to do that...or did I? |

After breathing in that secondhand smoke you can rinse your mouth out with a 12 gauge. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71614634 And I don't even smoke cigarettes. God damn you pussies. I like to say, your right to smoke ends where my nose begins. Second-hand smoke causes me Asthma. Yes it's a REAL thing! You selfish smokers will understand what that is at the end of your shortened life when you need an qxygen tank to breathe, but will still desire to suck on your cancer stick.. Also- Since the 90s- I noticed cars no longer have ashtrays. What does EVERY smoker do then?? Yea- they flick their ashes out the window, and TOSS their Cigarette Butt on the streets as they drive. If I have my windows open, or its a nice enough day to drive my Convertible, I have to hope I'm not stuck at a Red light downwind from a smoker. (that happens ALOT) Also- I have to worry a burning cigarette butt that gets tossed doesn't wind up in my car! Have any of you smoking advocates actually Volunteered your time to do a Beach Cleanup? Guess what is found more than any other trash on the beach? Cigarette Butts!! MOST (I didn't say all) Smokers are Extremely selfish! |
