Re: Tired of abductions, Mexican townsfolk kidnap drug boss' mom
It is time for the people to start fighting back against the cartels. Clearly the govt is not helping them, and is likely complicit, so they must do what they have to do to protect their community and families.
 Quoting: Lady Jane Smith

simply done. make all drug's legal. overnight the cartels will be out of business.

it is the only way to make it safe.

then drugs could be vetterd for their quality and sold legitimately to those that want to use them. those that don't can simply not use them.

everyone wins except the government and the cartels this way.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73605640

Except we want to live in a civilization, not in a freeforall state of anarchy fueled by wanton drug abuse.

We want a society where we can be safe with our families, build things, and prosper.

The mind of those using drugs is not a safe mind to be around and too many people will take advantage and be a danger to all of us.

The reason there is a drug problem still is because of government peoples complicity.

America needs a new Constitutional Amendment for frequent and random drug testing of all politicians and judges, most of whom are compromised drug addicts.
 Quoting: Deplorable dollop

Hey brainiac, drugs are easily accessible (for a fee) to anybody in the US. Those who wish to use drugs are already doing so. If you want further evidence to support my point, see what the usage levels were prior to CO legalizing and after legalizing.

You're "do it for the children" approach to government nannying is the reason we are in the predicament we are in now.

Economics hint: when you make something illegal, the black market for that THING booms.

If drugs were legal

No Dealing crimes
No Posession crimes
No Drug related murder crimes
etc etc

The list of crimes that instantly vanish are nearly endless.

Statistically the day after drugs being made legal you are safer due to simply less crime, the numbers dropping.

There are no deaths relating to overdose, no theft and robbery to pay for the drugs.

Crime ENDS over night.

MEXICO CITY - In one of the stranger chapters of Mexico's drug war, angry people in a southern town kidnapped the mother of a gang leader to demand the release of their loved ones.

Its illegal to own guns in Mexico.

The citizens are unarmed. The criminals are more armed than the military.

Goes to show what happens when the citizens are left without power to defend themselves.

No you dumbass. The cartels are more armed than the local police who are bribed.

But the current President has brought in the military and that has made a huge difference in those areas.

simply done. make all drug's legal. overnight the cartels will be out of business.

it is the only way to make it safe.

then drugs could be vetterd for their quality and sold legitimately to those that want to use them. those that don't can simply not use them.

everyone wins except the government and the cartels this way.

It is time for the people to start fighting back against the cartels. Clearly the govt is not helping them, and is likely complicit, so they must do what they have to do to protect their community and families.

Libertarian nonsense. Legalize pot but harder drugs need to stay forbodden. Decriminalize use and treat it like a disease but suppliers need to be punished and put out of business. And the cartels wont go away with legalization, except for pot possibly, and that is because people can grow it themselves. Legalization would just legitimize the cartels...the cartels only exist due to govt. collusion..they could be shut down in a day if the Mexican govt. wasn't as corrupt as it is...check out the Bronfmans to see a case study in what happens when criminals are legitimized...there are many other examples, they don't just disappear.

you can grow heroin, you can grow cocaine, the same as you can grow pot.

Your entire argument is invalid for obvious reasons.

The most telling reason is that you are simply regurgitating the current drug policy which is the reason there is this mess now, that's the most obvious reason.

You think legalization of Heroin and Coke would include legalizing home labs? Not a chance. The precedent for allowing home growing pot has been set and is primarily due to pots basic level of safety and it being simply an herb in need of no further peocessing....coke and heroin are not safe, and you need a lab to make them, you can't simply grow either....you left out the crucial reason why hard drug policy is a failure...and that reason is that govts. are colluding with suppliers, they are not enforcing the laws against suppliers but just go after users and low level pushers...

why would you bother when you can buy it for peanuts at the grocery store?

if it was legal it would be mass produced and sold.

you're still not getting your head out of it being illegal to fully graps the reality of when it's legal.

problems relating to it being illegal don't exist when it's legal, so you can't use them as reasons not to make it legal.
