Mom who left her toddler overnight in parked car told Thornton police she took vodka shots, arrest affidavit says

A young mother accused of leaving her 2-year-old son alone Friday night in a car parked outside a Thornton strip mall during a snowstorm and sub-zero temperatures told officers she had taken six shots of vodka that evening, according to an arrest affidavit.


When police found Nicole Alexandria Carmon's boy, he was half buckled into a car seat and “appeared to be in distress,” the arrest documents show. Investigators say the Ford Fusion was covered in some areas by at least six inches in snow.
