Some would consider a Christmas bonus offensive. I know, I'm just being an ass. I just started a new business. I will make it my policy to give each of my employees a Christmas bonus of $100 minimum each Christmas. Since I just accepted your challenge, I have a challenge for you my friend... I challenge you to do at least one act of kindness each year to a random stranger, and do it in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Do you accept ? Lock and Load, boys... |

Like little grabby spoiled children. You do know that bonuses cost the employer more money in taxes for the government parasites? Gross-Up Method If you negotiated a gross-up agreement with the employee, you would pay him the entire bonus sum and absorb the tax liabilities. Let’s say you agreed to give him $1,000 as a Christmas bonus. Add all the taxes due. For example, 25 percent plus 4.2 percent plus 1.45 percent comes to 30.65 percent, which is 0.3065 in decimal format (30.65 divided by 100). Subtract 1.000 from 0.3065 to get 0.6935.Then, divide the bonus amount of $1,000 by the decimal amount of 0.6935 to arrive at $1,441.96. You would pay the tax cost of $441.96 and the employee would receive $1,000. |
