Possible, but it changes nothing--our intentions, our thinking, and our actions are primarily responsible for our state of being in this reality/simulation.

I know a lot of people who play the Sims who torture their creations. we are a morbid species...humans that is.

oh, and when thinking about the simulation hypothesis, never forget to think about these two topics:


1 - we could be a simulation, inside a simulation, inside a simulation ...


2 - a computer game, or simulation, can be created with two "realms", both of them "just a simulation", but one of the realms thinks that it is superior to the "lower realm", even when both are just part of a computer simulation or game... for example, nothing can prevent you from creating a computer game with a "heaven", where "gods" (who have no clue that they are just characters in a computer simulation) like to play with the lives of the "mortals" (who also have no clue)

well, we all know that The Sims is a VERY PRIMITIVE game were the characters are not really capable of feeling real pain...

the situation is different when we create a VERY ADVANCED game where characters are really programmed to think and feel like humans think anf feel...

i wonder when people will realize they are just nothing more than a big microbe walking around. aimlessly, yet so confined in their own thought processes as if no other microbes are walking around with them. (masses wise)

some do adapt quickly and highly quickly, yet youre just a microbe. nothing more than a virus, eating away at the earth. you were before the bible and you will be after it, until the earth has shook you away and killed you. or we will kill ourselves with more and more multi cellular malfunctions.

You cannot program feelings. There is no code for that. All a computer can do is perform certain algorithms.

You can do the algorithms on paper as well, if you wanted to. It would take longer to do them on paper, but in theory it is possible.

Would the paper or your pencil feel something at some point just because you performed the right calculations?

The idea of creating consciousness by performing calculations is so silly, only some brainwashed scientists thinking that science can explain and create everything will believe.

I have figured this out on salvia. The simulation is like a prison . Just like how your video game characters will never find out, we are not suppose to find don't either. I was in the code of our simulation. I saw the other side. The coded side.

God spoke the creation into existence which implies thought and sound and He sustains it constantly. Some of us sustain it in cooperation with Him.
These are mysteries which can be understood by a finite mind.

Possibly underlying is something like the amplituhedron which is geometry, also something which can be understood by a finite mind.

We are told that His mind is not our mind but some of us can share His. This is where a separation in infinite and finite mind occurs. Not everyone will be able to understand this.

That thought process is rather depressing. I would almost reverse that ideology.

Maybe we only think we think and feel.

Maybe the Simulator Programmer really thinks and really feels at levels that are impossible for us to comprehend.

I am comfortable with the biblical account of Creation that can be theorized to be a 3D simulation of sorts. God created the universe and our earth that are a reality to us, based on our limited understanding of reality. But that may be no more than a pale simulation compared to the higher level reality that is heaven.

Some people who claim to have died briefly and gone to visit heaven state that heaven is more real to them than earth is. Everything there appears more alive and vibrant than on earth. I have no problem reconciling this observation to a simulated reality theory.

And quantum scientists have theorized that the smallest thing in the universe is a 'space-time pixel,' which is likely the size of a Planck unit, which is .00000000000000000000000000000016 meters in length (1.6 x 10^-35m.) They believe that there is likely nothing smaller than this in the universe. Nor are there any instruments that can measure anything anywhere near this small. But this is the best candidate for the resolution of our simulated universe.

If an AI in a closed-loop computer simulation game were to gain sentience, would it necessarily perceive any reality outside of it's own virtual reality?

In my theory, the Head Programmer is God. And His Big Bang was the launch of our 3D simulation we call the universe.

And our purpose in this simulation is to learn to love and become a part of God's own perfect higher-reality 'base civilization': His family & everyone in heaven. But we are not individually inherently perfect. Nor are we ever ready or good enough to join his perfect family in their perfect reality. That's why we travel through this school-like simulation here on earth first; to experience life and hardships here first, to weed-out the cold-hearted and the haters. To seek out and find our Creator. To love Him and embrace His perfect plan for us for our salvation through His only Son, Yahshua(Jesus).

It's a simple plan, so even simple people can understand and embrace it. It's not about self, or the mind, or achievement, but about the heart. Once we find our way back to God, and accept His perfect gift for us, we spend the remainder of our lives learning how to be more like Him. And soon we graduate from this simulation and move on up to the true and perfect reality of existence that the bible calls 'heaven.' There we join the 'base civilization.'

if i walk up to a wall and punch it i will hurt my hand

if i jump off a building i will die

if i walk up to a random person on the street and yell at them, kick them, or rob them there will be repercussions.

if my wife or dog die i become depressed

if i fuck around with booze or cocaine i will get hooked and drain my life savings and become a bum on a park bench looking for my next fix.

how is any of this simulated?
