If Freud misrepresented dreams, does that mean he misdiagnosed mental illness?

I am trying to be happy and am beginning to think that it is not possible without emotional health. Isn't that what we all need?

Final point. Marilyn Monroe was treated by a Freudian and so, by Jungian standards, she was normal and NOT suicidal.

Psychology is a pseudoscience. Literally, no better than Astrology. It only became popular as a way for upper middle class house wives to get their drug fixes. You reclaim your mental health by dismissing the bullshit you're being inundated with and taking control of your own life.

Freud was a sick fuck. As are / were most highly regarded psychologists.

Freud was too dogmatic and people get it.

He wasn't a genuine intellectual. More like a bad father with enormous room for improvement -but aren't we all?

What about his theories about the unconscious mind, or his five stages of psycho-sexual development?

His theories were not as valid, reliable or as advance as Jung's were.

I've always been more of a Jungian man anyway. As Jung correctly said - Freud tried to make his sexual theory into a kind of zealous dogma.

All psychologists work out their own problems on their clients.

Therapy is most often a means for self-absorbed people to get someone to listen to all the bullshit their family and friends are long since sick of hearing.

Freud is a true genius.

His explanation of the interaction between the unconscious mind processes and the conscious mind are a great contribution.

And he knew what is obvious: it's all about sex and orgasms

So does every hooker.

And his book, "Was Moses an Egyptian" in which he explains the Jews killed Moses and that's the root of their guilt.
