broke but amazingly got anonymous help this holiday
Long story short, I'm flat broke. Bone skinny, ultra gas conservative and basically everything goes to the two kids, whom once I had no problem affording and who thankfully never eat everything so thats how I keep up with the calorie intake.

So totally desperate I go to this website on the 24th, and they say 'post your christmas need' which I do. The site looks like crap: bad font, shady tactics making you go to craigslist before activating your registration. To me I'm thinking, man this place is a dumb scam

But I post my need anyway. My post is essentially me saying 'hey anyone out there can lend a hand I can really use a few bucks it would go a long way', which is totally true. Smart food shopping that goes a long way is easy and gas when well used can go a long way too. But honestly, I was not really expecting a reply, none at all

Yes, I was panhandling anonymously, no doubt about it so there I admit it. That's easy to do as an AC so IRL I probably would play it down.

But I was down, I really was. Step into my shoes for a moment. Any other time of the year it's more or less tolerable being in a shitty disposition, you go through it and get through it. Somehow though on christmas, it's not. I can't say for sure why but it just is.

Anyhow someone replied to my need the next day on the 25th, and after replying to them, this totally anonymous person out of nowhere sent me 100 bucks USD on the 26th the following day! Wow right? I didn't even ask for a hundred but this complete stranger must of just decided that a round number was best :)

I really needed the help, I still can use more that's for sure, but this totally anonymous act of kindness out of the blue turned an incredibly awful last week of 2016 into one that is much better

So... I guess I just wanted to let others out there know, there's a good out there.

In their note to me the helper reminded me to pay it forward one day. I was pretty wealthy once and I helped a lot of people - my mom says I should have saved instead of helped - but nonetheless one day I will get back on my feet financially and I will do the same as this stranger

happy holidays!

It really was, thank you and I will!

But my OP, that was just three quarters of the story, since the next day on the 27th, my fantastically terrible luck and fate decided to throw me a curveball in disabling my automobile - i realize that I'm weird just having one car, but that's how I am - that just so happened to be covered by the extra $ this anonymous person decided to give as to what I had even originally posted in my need (25 dollars)

So without this person out of nowhere just giving for no reason except to help after reading my rather not very Ad copied post of need for help, it saved me tons of trouble, saved probable loss of a job because of no working car to get to said job, and obviously all the other good things as securing some chow, gasoline, and yup even splurged and got coffee and chocolates at my favorite store the very under appreciated dollar general :D
