"Friendships" with other countries is a juvenile concept. You don't operate out of "friendship" you operate out of mutual self interest which may change over time. We can indeed have good relationships with Russia, Israel and many other countries if we stop trying to dictate everything that happens in the world for the welfare of a few oil magnates and work with every country so that we all get some of what we want. It's called negotiation and Trump is the master of it.
