It was 1974 and the pulse dial, green, rotary phone rang one summer day. I was nine, and grabbed the receiver (lesson here kiddos, a receiver at that time doubled as a weapon.) As I put it up to my ear I heard, what now is the unmistakable sound of a fax machine; however, I knew nothing of such devices.
