would it be worth it to pay no property tax ..but have no services , garbage pick up , police, fire dept ect ...? | |

You can't just voluntarily stop paying property taxes. You don't own your house or land. You own the right to live there as long as you do what the government allows, and that includes paying your servitude tax. Just like the serfs and peasants did for the Land Owners in the dark ages, the commoners here in North America (and pretty much any first world nation) have to hand over their duty to the Master every year in order to continue to occupy the land.  |

Well said. As long as we can lose our land for not paying a property tax, we don't own it. Without true land ownership, there is no freedom. Keep thinking you're free. If there was ever an insidious tax worthy of initiating a revolution, it is property tax. Let's start demanding it now. Outright ownership. This idea should be a super pinned thread. |

There was police, fire and emergency services, there were decent looking schools. There were no water services, no natural gas services, no trash services. You took your trash to the dump, it was free. You could fill up your water bottles for free at gov. Stations all over. Propane you of corse had get yourself and pay for. It was a hassle to go and do all this for yourself but I sure liked my property tax bill. |
