It's about time we had President that has that level of respect for his country, his countrymen and himself.

His salute could reverberate throughout the military. He's got their back. They suddenly feel appreciated after eight years of an enemy encampment in the WH.

A salute is the respect for a commission of higher rank, not a person. If the enlisted or lower ranked officers are saluting Mr. Trump he IS the Commander-In-Chief.

Joined August 1971, retired October 1991, been working as a contractor to the same armed service ever since. I did take a Saturday and Sunday off between being retired and starting work as a contractor one whole building over. As I did today and hope to until I'm 70.

I wonder why the Air Force guys were there?

Folks, he's the President right now. Rewatched the video and they say the man coming off that was not family was a New York federal judge, they weren't sure why he was on the plane. LBJ was sworn in by a federal judge on the plane. I'll guarantee you that judge swore him in and the Air Force Col knew it thus saluted his CIC. Hail to the Chief!

Trumps father sent him to a kick ass military school on Long Island when the Donald was a young man. He did real good at the military school, and now you see the results with his perfect crisp salute and respect for rank and uniform. I feel proud to be an American once again.

It really made me feel good to see Trump descend those steps to the tarmac, stop in his tracks, very deliberately respond to the officer with a crisp salute and say "Thank you!" And that officer had the biggest smile on his face!

I think the military is delighted to now have a leader who "gets" and respects them.
