Let me know if that is possible I see him very happy and sucessful. It seems that to him truly it has nothing to do with you in his mind he has never left you .. to me it looks as simple as he saw him self to be a finacial burden. I do not see him thinking of you in any bad thoughts I do not understand why you are not in contact at all, so I can not answer the question about if his grandma will ever see him.
