Someone explain what I am seeing with my eyes
I am going to keep this short and simple.

Basically,

I just walked to the store and looked up to see pinkish clouds covering the sky.

But not just any clouds..

The lower clouds, which seemed to be TOO low, were moving west at a high rate of speed, but the upper clouds were moving east also at a high rate of speed..

Why?

You're seeing fractus clouds.

Expound a little?

To give you more of an idea, I am in Atlanta. It is storming off and on.

It's 7am and it was still night when I walked to the store.

The lower clouds were extremely low, but not low enough to actually reach or anything. I would guess a couple 1000 ft high.

I could also make out the altitude of the lower clouds against the backdrop of the higher passing clouds moving in the opposite direction.

Why are the pink and tan? Why have I never seen this before?

I watch the sky daily for crosses and anarchy symbolism shaped chemtrails and anything unusual like the bright star that appears pretty early in the day all alone.

I would love to know more about this phenomenon you speak of..

What I've gathered concerning your answer.

Fractus clouds (scuds) are small, ragged cloud fragments that are usually found under an ambient cloud base. They form or have broken off from a larger cloud, and are generally sheared by strong winds, giving them a jagged, shredded appearance.

This does not explain the altitude of these clouds being so low. So low that I felt they were reachable with a small drone..

The larger clouds seemed like they were thousands of miles higher than the "Fractus Clouds"

Very interesting.

I'm not trying to hijack this but me and a friend saw something slightly similar that was quite odd a few years ago. We were sitting on a square in the early morning. Don't know if it was during the twilight just before sunrise, but it could have been. It wasn't dark at least but the clouds were unnaturally close. It was like everything was swept in or enclosed by these grayish (as far as I remember) clouds. Not only that, but everything was silent. No voices of people or the sound of cars.

While it was going on we were mostly silent but my acquaintance commented on that he had never seen the clouds such as these before. I probably replied that neither have I. I also noticed something that I didn't mention...

Then all of a sudden the clouds went back to looking normal. I think I might have said "What the hell was that?" Both of us agreed that there was a strong feeling of doom in the are whilst it lasted. Afterwards my acquaintance asked if the light weren't slightly greenish during the incident too. And yes, that was what I'd noticed but not mentioned.

I don't know what it was. Could be normal but it surely felt like a portend of doom.

Exactly! All the low clouds have disappeared and the sky is now covered in high clouds.

This may sound far-fetched, but do you think that these low moving clouds could be some sort of cloaking technology? The way they mover in the opposite direction to the higher cloud shelf amazed me.

Also these low clouds were pinkish and had an eerie shape to them.
