Capitalism is only "the best system", the same reason US Constitutionalism is the "best system", because of narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths.

In theory, a centrally planned system should be best. Why doesn't theory manifest into reality? because it does not take into account, defective human beings like narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths.

Those types of people, have an innate desire to control others, wield power over others, and status. They will do anything and everything, to maintain and advance it. One thing they will often do, is persecute the more competent, so they can retain power.

Think the absurd Lysenkoism, and how at one time, disagreeing with it, would result in the death penalty. Why? Because Communist's high in the chain of command, wanted to purge competent people they feared would replace them.

Thus, all centrally planned societies, are doomed to be infected by narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths, like termites to wood. Like any wood structure, a termite infestation, will eventually destroy it.

Capitalism, and Constitutionalism(limited government), help to constrain the destruction caused by the triad of evil, personalities.

There is no mechanism in a centrally planned system, to deal with the termites, so they are doomed and a bad idea.

So where do we ship those sociopathic taxi drivers to??

I am a free enterprise taxi driver. The companies that rip you off lose business. Money talks. In Vegas the mob owns the taxis, no Uber allowed.

Trouble with that journey up the strip to the Airport I suspect is that with the fares set the way they are, the drivers can't make enough money if they are constantly doing short trips - in a 'free market' the drivers would set their own fares.

as someone else said, free markets are mathematical constructs made by economists. in reality there are no free markets. when markets are deregulated (ie become more free) major players form unofficial cartels so they dont engage in price wars.

not really. depressions and mass unemployment are generally brought about contraction of credit. the availability of credit is controlled by the banks, therefore the banks control the economy.

There is for Uber..............They use a pricing system called "surge demand." IE: The standard fare can shoot up to 700% like it did in the Bay Area a week or so back.

Credit expansion is not a cure to make people happy. The boom it engenders must inevitably lead to a debacle and unhappiness.

Yeah well i just drove for hrs for uber and made 22 bucks after gas. one girl did tip me out of 7 trips.

Whatever the issue, let freedom offer us a hundred choices, instead of having government force one answer on everyone.
