President Trump - What Action Have You Taken On Illegals And Building The Wall?

I have to agree with this. We need to enforce laws that are on the books if we are to be a nation of laws.

Pres. Trump must realize that if his administration is going to bend and ignore laws that are no being enforced, we will end up in yet another bad situation. We are either a country of law and order or not.

An executive order can be put in place until laws are enacted, if necessary.

I've read the thread and seen contradictory statements on border enforcement. At the present we are not sure whether President Trump has ordered the laws at the border enforced or not. This needs to be verified by Tweet, in writing, by him, not in a press conference or on Fox news.

Reasonable citizens do not insist that a wall be build in less than a week, or that the border can be 100% contained with a gutted force of immigration officers. Those who are pushing for a wall today are just shills and should be ignored.

But something can be done, now, today with what we have in place already.

Things like anchor babies can be handled later. At present they are not killing, robbing and raping the citizens.

Criminals need to be imprisoned as they are captured and left there until they can be sent back to where they came from. This will require some negotiation too, as the Central American countries have used the US as their cess pit to dump their criminal excrement for too long. They need to be convinced to take those turds back and deal with them. Peacefully if possible.

But the president needs to clearly communicate what he is doing today to keep his number 1 campaign promise before he starts losing supporters.

Fewer deportations will be required if the Border Patrol starts turning them back NOW.

I voted for the first time on this issue. I am in CA and live this issue every day. I see more and more illegals pouring into the state. You can't even go to a public park without the place being filled with illegals and hearing mexican music. Their crimes are endless. You can't go into a hospital ER without having it filled with illegals.

The campaign was much more nuanced than the single issue of immigration and if that's the most important thing to you then you're an idiot. There were many issues and he's working on them

He's going to have address the issue sooner rather than later, but he's taking the right approach by working on less contentious issues that are still just as important and that he can resolve quickly rather than getting the entire agenda bogged down by immediately taking on an issue that's going to start a shit storm.

The border has been a mess since Eisenhower left office. We'll probably survive another few days or weeks until they start moving on this, too.

I agree this issue needs attention as it's a national security threat. But as others have asaid, it's only Day 2. We've had 8 YEARS of the gates being open. It's better to have this done right than in a half-assed fashion.

Timing is also key - pushing this issue right now could easily sidetrack and delay the nomination approvals, infrastructure deals, ACA repeal, and much more.

Trust the man - he'll get it secured, and deport the criminals. The other, law-abiding, illegals he will look at after the border is 100% secure and effective policies are in place - IOW that will a bit down the road from now.

And though illegal immigration was made out to be the biggest issue by the media, IMO the economic decline and our rotting out from the core was the keystone issue that switched all those Midwest states for Trump. He knows that and that is why his primary immediate focus is there.

But this is not the Colosseum in Rome where we appease the roaring tigers and demanding crowd at the expense of innocence. It's not just 10 year old Barron he cares about.
