50th Anniversary of the Apollo 1 Fire | |

Quoting: Artemis Rand NASA intended to launch the shuttle every 10-14 days. At one point they thought they could have (100) launches a year. In fact, they thought that the thing was nearly "maintenance free" and that it would basically be a "space trucker service" for hauling satellites back and forth. Of course, that was all a pipe dream. The most launched in a year was (9) back in 1985. In fact, they were playing so fast and loose with the safety protocol that they were damn lucky they didn't lose one before Challenger - and they were also damn lucky to have only lost the one on liftoff. There were a couple of occasions in which the damn thing could have blown up on the pad. That said, the shuttle program should never have been ended by that idiot Obama. The thing could have - and should have - continued to fly indefinitely until a replacement manned vehicle was ready at the very least... Lol! America has not needed the Space shuttle since the late 50's if not earlier because they had working anti-gravity craft. All the rest is just for show and to keep corporations profiteering. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64573942 They stopped using high pressure pure O2 in ground tests...and they went over the whole electrical system with a fine toothed comb, weeding out all the potential problems. They did stop using high pressure O2 in ground tests. The in flight atmosphere remained 100% O2, but at reduced cabin pressure (which provided sea level O2 content in the reduced pressure, not a fire hazard.) Many believe, in a sobering examination, that this accident saved Apollo from what could have been a program ending disaster in flight. |

The molecules of hydrogen are so small that they get trough any seal. Still today the same problems exist but the are "manageable". Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73468257 Saw this on discovery few years ago. Besides THAT?! NASA had problems with the Head Of Quality Control and Safety. Wait for it.......... Falling to his death on or about the same time of the murders by fire. I mean accident. |

NASA lied, fact. Wow! Pick a crap idea to "prove" your point. How about a NORMAL CLUE. Why no testing on the Metals we left there? Why mo color picture video from Moon Rovers? Why no Moon Rovers? How many MILES OF DEEP SPACE TRAVEL? Look at a graph! Millions on the fake Moon landings. Hundreds since then. Everything else gets CHEEPER? Except travel?? Why no real definitive Moon Info? Why do we ignore our MANDATORY NEXT STEP? NOT Mars. Habitable Moon Bases! Who skips THAT in the Mars rush? |

He often talk about him and the accident. Damn shame. Quoting: LangleyJoe 72684744 It was. And a full investigation was hampered by the secrecy surrounding the incident. Yah! It's rough to report loosing both your full A Team Crew. AND your Head Safety Engeneer! In the same24 hour period. In separate accidents. Safety Engeneers, falling from places. Nothing to see here folks!! News at 11 though. News you can believe!! |

And he did that in 1967, a mere two years before they magically landed men on the moon; the first of six miraculous successes. /sarc Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64573942 Good question. He knew that no one was going to land on the moon, he was starting to talk about it, so they killed him and made it look like an accident. Real simple. They always kill those who oppose them and/or try to expose them. |

It was easy because of the pure oxygen used and the door opening inwards, all that was needed was a simple sabotage of a few wires. |

On 27th January 1967, a fire broke out during a test which killed astronauts Virgil "Gus" Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee. This is the audio leading up to and including the fire. Apollo 1 is a vital part of the history of manned spaceflight. The deaths of Grissom, White and Chaffee should never be forgotten. The Challenger and Columbia disasters are probably more well known due to the news coverage they received. This video is to remind people of the sacrifice made by three astronauts, who are maybe less known to most people, but made a priceless contribution to the Apollo program. This led to man being successful in walking on the Moon. History should be preserved for the public, and true heroes always remembered. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] |

Yeah right, Lindberg within a week modified a one engine plane and increased it's range 10 times to fly across the Atlantic. Another bullshit Masonic psy-op lie. NASA was and is ate up with those bullshitters as well with all their bullshit symbols. Sucking down their freeloading .gov check with the big pension and cushy job just laughing at us schmucks. |

LOL...Gus Grissom and Ed White and Robert Chaffee was the third I believe. There were actually four astronauts who died in the fire - one was part of the secret space program, so they never disclosed it. His body was removed first. Listen to the John Lear Project Camelot interview. Grissom was cursing NASA as the fire started. He knew he was going to die. Lear claims to know the name of the fourth astronaut. Interesting..not sure I ever heard that before... |
