Re: Increase in static electricity
I do not understand why this is pinned! Static electricity is normal during the winter. A few years ago there was a SPARK when I was petting my cat. Haha.

Dry air = static electricity. Always has been that way, and always will be. I would like more information on why others think this is important.

I've been wondering the same thing for about a month, it seem's I'm getting shocked everywhere. Even though for the past couple of days it has been better (no change in weather).

The Ionic-Ultrasonic Waterless Pet Brush is the perfect anti static brush for your pets. Pets with long hair, especially cats, often times collect so much static it’s impossible to touch them without shocking the crap out of them. Ionic brushes help to reduce static and add a healthy sheen to your pet’s coat

I remember my cats would bite me hard when I "zapped" them a few too many times. Once they were at a safe distance, they would turn around, sit & throw disgusted looks my way.

My dog would get zapped too & he would just start playing hard with me like it was my fault he was getting zapped.

Re: Increase in static electricity
for me it has...

every time I get out of the car, I get a zap as I touch the metal of the door frame.

Wonder what would happen to us if we grounded outselves all the time?

the rubber tires are pretty good insulators, as lightening doesn't affect the occupants of a care, though it has been known to blow out a tire...

the last month or so I have noticed a large increase?

why is that?

are we flying through a more charged section of space? are we flying at the end of the 26,000 year precession cycle through a weird section of space?

our local store sux, everything you touch emits a stupid spark. Must be my cheap clothes making it worse, because it doesnt affect my kids as much. they even 'zap' me as we walk thru the store, so I make em gather what I need.

I normally keep getting zapped at the slightest instance, but in my observations of last few years, those who are born under the sun-sign sagittarius (my late father, friends etc.) have a tendency to be less affected.
Could any Sagis in GLP care to pitch in their two cents and confirm if my observation has been close or totally off the mark.
Thanks.

Another factor is what you are wearing. Fleece clothing ,usually made of some platic polomar, will definitely increase static build up.

I still think it's an electrical wiring problem, but after reading this thread i wonder...

Since a month or two or so, my computer speakers (no cheap shit) make some sort of short static noise at regular intervals 24/7... Those intervals are slowly but surely getting shorter. (Two months ago it was like every 10 minutes, now it's every 6 / 7 minutes)

Just got to learn to find something grounding to touch before you touch a lightswitch or gas tank. I forgot to touch the wall before touching the lightswitch and I got a blue current coming out of it. This always happens when it is so cold but hey I'm not saying earth changes aren't making everything worse.

Base magnetic frequency has been increasing since 1980 going from 7.8 to over 12 cycles a second this is an incress in electrical tension like the charging of a capasiter before the spark jumps the gap

Re: Increase in static electricity
The static electricity phenomena has been reported on this board and elsewhere several times in the past 2-3 years.

The static shocks seem to come in waves of intensity, and they have been very intense the past 3 weeks, worsened by the cold dry winter, but the dry winter air is just an intensifying factor, not the cause.

Static electricity is most certainly on the increase here in the NE USA (NJ), and it isn't confined just to winter nor to dry weather. We've had a lot of static in the spring and summer, on humid and rainy days. My observation is that some people are more susceptible to the static shocks than others, this could be do to the level of iron in the blood. The shocks can be very strong at times.

Wonder whether increased? static over the years bear any connection to HAARP related activities? I live near the coast in Holland, never suffer from zaps in any season, thankfully.

Yes! That is so weird! It's been increasing since the past 3-4 weeks here in VA. It seems like no matter what I do, I've got a shock when I touch something or someone! I thought it was new furniture I bought that may be increase the static electricity in the air but it's not just in that room, it's everywhere!

Re: Increase in static electricity
Here too!

We've got several large aquariums as well as an indoor hydroponics garden, so I know our house is well-humidified.

I can't pet the cats for zapping them. Their fur goes every which way. I can't get in the truck without getting the FIRE knocked out of me. If I open the refrigerator, POW!

Very annoying, and rather painful!

And yes, I know about the "winter" thing, but we've never had a problem with it until this year.

Sag. here - and I'm getting zapped constantly. For those that are saying its the dry air.. this is true. But I think the air is dryer than normal. I was getting zapped in August!
