To be honest, I'd love to have money. I'd buy a house near the sea and visit relatives in a campervan.

Maybe even go on NowIhavetothinkofaname's grand tour of Australia. Eat cheese and drink wine in the Barossa Valley. Cross the Nullarbor and drive all the up to Darwin to bake like a potato... Get sick of driving and let my siblings drive my campervan back around Australia. Doing lot of touristy stuff and spending more money than I should.

But to be honest I'd probably blow away any money I got like I've always done.

But I'd try to structure the loan in a way that if they didn't pay off the house before retirement, they'd be able to stay in the house but not own it outright.

There would be fees and charges payable by the estate upon disposal of the property after their inevitable demise.

Alternatively if it looked like they couldn't reasonably pay off the house, I'd just rent it to them for obviously less than market value.

But the cheap rent might enable them to get drunk or smoke cigarettes more.
