Never mind the fact that the moon rang hollow like a bell when they crashed a rocket into it to test the dust plume created. Matter of fact, Lets only excavate on the side of the moon that we can see. You know the side which is tide locked to always face the earth. This way when we excavate over time we can make the moon lopsided. So when nibiru comes the moon will be out of alignment and block us like a shield. The gods wont be expecting a lopsided counterweight when they stop over for there every 3000 year vacation. Good plan right? Go glp go. |

As for He3, I worked with Dr. Bob Waldron in Advanced Engineering for years. He was one of the original experts on He3 mining and utilization. He3 looks fabulous on paper. In theory, using a magnetic mirror fusion reaction vessel, you get protons out one end and electrons out the other. That's direct current with over 90% efficiency. 50 tons of He3 can provide all energy used by the USA for one year. Clean energy. However, the temps and pressures required are over ten times that of the tritium-deuterium fusion temp/pressures which are challenging enough. He3-Dt does not produce neutrons, but as soon as you produce tritium, that will fuse with the Dt and neutrons result. Mind you, I have not kept up on developments for years since I retired, so it possible that some ingenious scientist has come up with something better. However, people that have not studied the field completely misunderstand what will drive mining and colonization beyond Earth. Those two drives will be FREEDOM and POWER. Once you escape Earth's gravity and set up a relatively self sufficient civilization in space, you have unlimited space to expand, unlimited resources, unlimited energy, and total FREEDOM to go anywhere. Note that escaping Earth's gravity takes a delta V (change in velocity) of 10 Km/sec. A few more Km/sec takes you anywhere in the Solar System and it is incredibly huge. Imagine if any group could travel off from Earth and set up whatever type of society, religion, or political system they want unhindered by politicians and bureaucrats! That is how you ended up with Pilgrims (Puritans) at Plymouth Rock and Catholics in Georgia. They were fleeing the authorities of their day. The POWER I speak of is military. Space is the high ground. Spacers will be able to dominate any military on Earth simply by dropping rocks on them at several Km/sec.
