Physicists think there is an endless amount of parallel universes, there is not. There is also not and endless amount of timelines in a universe, there should be only one. That is why we constantly check for extra timelines and and them if we find them. Just suppose there were alternate universes, than they could have a totally different set of natures constants and laws of physics.
