60's in oroville begin today, low up to 49' Friday and then chilly at nights again until mid March with T-storms in the forecast 3/16-20

Divers? I wonder how long any fix they attempt will hold once the water rises again.

In that vid it looked like they were stitching up slabs of concrete together?

Thanks for the continued information everyone . Got a lot going on here but trying to check this thread and a couple of vids at least once a day and I'm grateful for the numbers, vids etc.

Just found this one and it is mindblowing how different the area at the bottom of the MS is without the water there.

I haven't been watching the park dam camera because I know all the activity is happening out of camera view. but, if they might need to use divers, I'll start watching again focusing on the Aux spillway angle to see if any boats approach the chutes from the lake side.

I think those stitches are the bent rebar ripped out of the slabs when the breakage tore it apart?

My God, look at the amount of crumbled bedrock and debris that came down from the slope.

That's hardly a solid foundation to be building on.

This should be a constant theme on the MSM talk shows.

At this rate of app. 3 feet per day, and doing that just with snow melt and no rain, the dam will overtop again in 19 days.

Of course, they will use the MS again long before that, so it won't happen unless the rainfall and snow melt become unmanageable.

The damage looks impressive beneath the MS, but there must be solid rock all the rest of the way up, so as long as the MS gates hold, we should be OK.

IF...they do get into a situation where they need to use the ES again, all bets are off. No amount of downhill patching is going to prevent that sucker from blowing out if they get any kind of volume over it for any length of time.

in Northern California is ready to receive the incoming

I think they are releasing water from the upstream reservoirs into Oroville, too. They are trying to give themselves more cushion for this weekend when the NWS says temps will climb and rainfall of 2.35" is expected Saturday morning into Monday afternoon.
