We spent 2 nights there two summers ago.

Nice small town.

This is the kind of place where the local A&W serves a good breakfast that draws in a lot of older gentlemen getting together to start of their day. I would recommend that breakfast. Skip the hash browns though.

SW Alberta Canada is one of the great places to see on earth.

I'm a Yank and we were treated well, got the usual exchange discount and I plan on going back.

From the calgaryherald dot com website...

"A spokesperson for RCMP was offering few details Wednesday morning but confirmed that police are dealing with a “dangerous situation involving a person” and are asking the public to remain clear of the area.

“It’s not involving a school, but there is a school in the vicinity that is taking some safety measures,” said Cpl. Laurel Scott, referring to unconfirmed reports that the incident is near Pincher Creek’s Matthew Halton High School."

@CTVKaellaCarr
RCMP tell us they've been on the scene in #PincherCreek since 4:30am. Neighbours say Mounties are negotiating with a person inside a home.

Well, that was a crazy and extended public information response by officials to what seems like a SWAT/barricade scenario.

"The Town of Pincher Creek said St. John Ave to Robertson Ave and Main Street to Kettles Street are closed. "

That's next to a school, a library and a Sobey's.
Those two blocks are a mix of residential and business.

This is really a prairie town up against the Rockies.
These folks grow hay and cattle.

Good mid-Western community.

Hi guys....
I've been thru Pincher Creek a few times.
Here is what I can tell you about this area:

-Very windy
-Remote area
-Many mormons
-Many aboriginals in the area
-Lotta ranchers and cowboy types

That area of Alberta is a very good area. Good people.

Air-Strike...

Have the CanKnucklehead Copsters light the bitch up with a laser, and drop some guided munitions on it.

I live just a few Km's east of pincher creek, supposedly its one guy holed up in his house. They've been telling people not to post things on social media so the police can get the jump on the suspect.

At least thats the official story, I'm away from home at the moment.
